Larry’s bath time
Larry woke up one Sunday morning. He quickly realised, that he was alone in bed which concerned him, because his better half never got out of bed early Sunday mornings. Larry puzzled for a moment while his mind was still asleep. Then he remembered! His wife had a great wish to see the opera. She was at the moment at her sisters, because she was going with her. No one expected Larry to come along; therefore Larry wanted to prove her wrong.
Larry looked at the ticking clock in the bedroom. It was only 10 o’clock. He had all day to get ready. Larry really wanted to surprise his wife at the theatre. Larry sniffed his armpits and concluded that a bath would be very appropriate before he got better ideas.
The tub was just filled. The steaming water just needed Larry to dump himself in it, if he could just find the bar of soap. In confusion Larry scratched his head. As a habit like any other shameless person has, Larry’s hand reached down to his but cheek. There is was! His missing bar of soap!
Larry was rubbing his rough curves in soap while drifting away in his own thoughts when suddenly the window cleaner appeared in the second floor window and pulled Larry out of his daydreaming by taking some of the bathtub water. Not a single word was exchanged and as quickly the window cleaner appeared, he disappeared leaving Larry grumpy and alone with his own thoughts and a bucket less of water.
It didn’t take Larry long to get over the episode and after a few minutes, Larry was sitting in the bathtub humming a joyful tune and balancing the removable tub shelf on his feet. This act stood on for a while, but Larry couldn’t manage to balance it for long, and the shelf tipped into the water with a great splash! This gave Larry a good idea! He hurried downstairs wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. With him back up in the bathroom he had a model ship. This was perfect. He could now reconstruct the climax scene from the documentary about Titanic Friday night by using foam as the colossal ice berg. The little play was very cheerful for Larry, but suddenly the dramatic scenario reminded him about the opera, and Larry forced his inner child to get up from the water.
Very satisfied by his unselfishness and his strength of will, he dried himself thinking about how happy his wife would be to see him at the theatre. There he stood imagining himself at the end of the staircase in tie and tuxedo. His wife would fall all over in love with him again, he thought… Let’s see what happens, when she finds out, what Larry used as a mat after his shower.
