How do countries attain their freedom and what issues did they face along the road? The first part of the question is easy to answer, it is through revolutions. The second part is the most important the issues that Latin American countries faced. Freedom is not cheap there is a price to pay in order to attain it but what you do with that freedom is up to you once you liberated yourself from the oppressors. The people of the Latin American countries demonstrate their feelings within the documents and the procedure they went through in order to attain independence. Document one expresses the one of the greatest question that is asked by a nation that leads to greatness “ who are we as a country?”, within the document it says we are “Americans by birth and European by law” which calls to question the people of Latin American countries loyalty and if they are will to fight for their independence. When the government oppresses the people, there is only so much the people can take before the people begin to dismantle the government. Document three is the perfect example of this, when the people's hero is assassinated by government orders because they stood up to their oppressors the people will begin to reject the government and revolt. Document four is another main issue as that the people of Latin America revolted is so they would not have to answer to the powerful.
