Today’s society is and will always be involved in our Countries Laws. It does not matter what law it is; weather it is Criminal, Civil, Public or Substantive we will have always have to adapt to what is set in writing so that you don’t have to pay fines, lose our home or go to prison. The Constitution of the United States has set standards for us to live by and upholding these rights and what is writing is something that can’t be taken away. The Constitution is what made a Government and is comprised of three functions of what it was designed and written for. The 1st Step in developing is to develop a structure and make guidelines on what criteria you must have to hold a certain office. The second function is to determine what branches can have what power. Things can’t be accomplished without each other. The third function is providing procedural protections for the citizens of the United States. ( Melvin, S. P. ) If we could go back to the best and see how these roles were developed, I am sure it was learning experience and they tried these functions themselves to make sure that they were producing something that would last four-ever. This has changed Society forever and always will. No matter what law is passed or law that did not pass it will always have affect on people and businesses. Even today groups, business and non-profit organizations use roles like the Constitution. I am sure they don’t live in White House, but these groups, business’s or organizations Have a committee’s that are formed with Secretary’s, President’s, Vice Presidents, Treasures and members that vote on rules or laws within their group or business. No matter how much you like or dislike a role or law that has been set by one of three branches it is our duty as Citizens, to obey and respect whatever is set in front of

I will also discuss the functions and role of law within my past or present job or industry. Without the effectiveness of laws put in place to govern the actions of people and businesses, society would lack the boundaries needed to function effectively, likely resulting in the collapse of commerce. Even though the general functions of law seem to be simplistic in nature, the legal system which umbrellas all who conducts business within the United States of America is rather quite complex. Roles and Functions of Law

...Role and Functions of Law Paper LAW/421 November 5, 2013 Based on reading from the week 1 material and the case brief given from week 1, there will be an explanation of how the Supreme Court’s language and results of the case reviewed show the preemptive power of congress in upholding the laws set forth by congress in opposition from the State Law. There will also be a review of the rulings effect on other states and peoples’ rights. The review of congresses decision about preempting state law in this case shows that the government has supreme rule over the land and in this case used it to protect the tobacco industry. Business law and law in society will also be reflected upon and how it might relate to a past or present job opportunity. In review of the Case Brief Cipollone v. Liggett Group, Inc., given the results of the case, the preemption power of congress is too narrow. The basis for this case was the fact that the state law was conflicted with federal law regarding advertising and marketing techniques for the tobacco industry. Federal law is supreme when there are conflicting issues. A reason this could be viewed as too narrow, is because if there are any conflicting laws between state law and federal law there should be language in the statute that directly states the regulations and requirements or if there is not a direct statement, the state law would be preempted if it conflicts in any way with federal law. The Supreme Court’s ruling...
