...Part I INTRODUCTION 1.1 Theories/Concept of the Design Class Volume Monitoring System with Automatic Influx Adjustment is a reliable circuit that takes over the task of counting the number of individuals inside a room very accurately. When somebody enters the room, the counter is incremented by one. When somebody exits the room, the counter will count down by one. The total number of individuals inside the room is displayed on the two 7-segments. Individual Counting is simply a measurement of the individual traffic entering and exiting offices, malls, sports, venues, rooms etc. Counting the number of individuals helps to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of employees, floor area of an organization, and even the monitoring of the people inside. Individual counting is not limited to the entry or exit point of an establishment but has a wide range of applications that provide information to management on the volume and flow of people throughout a location. A common method for counting the visitors involves sharing human auditors to manually tally the number of individuals who pass by a certain location. But human-based data collection comes at great expense. Our project aims to automate the counting of individuals with the use of a detector called Light-Dependent Resistor which makes it more reliable and efficient. The use of human auditors is redirected to other functions which makes a more productive system. Another feature of this project is...

...Behavioral Leadership Approach Hanane Kilaouy LDR/531 August 20, 2012 Bridget Peaco Behavioral Leadership Approach Management and leadership skills of employees inside any organization have a huge impact on its success. Yukl (2010) stated that most descriptions of leadership involve process of influencing people intentionally to lead, and build relationships in an organization (Yukl, 2010). Some leaders are born to become leaders and leadership is a natural skill that they own and do not have to build from scratch. However, in an organization most leaders need to reach some degree of work experience to become successful. This paper will emphasize the behavioral approach, including strengths, and weaknesses as well as an example of this leadership approach used in an organization. Behavior Approach is one of the major research approaches for studying leadership that begins back in the early 1950s after scientists start paying more attention to the behaviors of managers. Leaders are individuals who have characters, behaviors, and abilities to make others complete theirs tasks needed to accomplish the target goals for the company. The behavior approach focuses on the behavior of leaders and their method of accomplishing tasks. The main strength of the behavior leadership approach is that the leader usually carries certain skills and behaviors that fit the whole team and lead to working chemistry that leads to a success in an organization. In this method of leadership...

...today's world. Conventional energy resources are not only limited but also the prime culprit for environmental pollution. Renewable energy resources are getting priorities in the whole world to lessen the dependency on conventional resources. Solar energy is rapidly gaining the focus as an important means of expanding renewable energy uses. Solar cells those convert sun's energy into electrical energy are costly and inefficient. Different mechanisms are applied to increase the efficiency of the solar cell to reduce the cost. Solar tracking system is the most appropriate technology to enhance the efficiency of the solar cells by tracking the sun. A microcontroller based design methodology of an automatic solar tracker is presented in this paper. Light dependent resistors are used as the sensors of the solar tracker. The designed tracker has precise control mechanism which will provide three ways of controlling system. A small prototype of solar tracking system is also constructed to implement the design methodology presented here. Index Terms:- MPPT I. INTRODUCTION Now a day’s electricity generation using solar mobile has been growing fast day today. In order to obtain solar energy as much as possible, the study of the efficiency for PV systems has attracted many researchers and engineers attention. So much research is available that it is necessary to categorize it to emphasize potential relationships that tie them together. According to Yuki, "common practice is to limit the focus to one type of leader characteristic, namely traits, behavior, or power" (Yuki, 2010, p. 13). Focusing on the trait approach, a definition will be provided and an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of this approach will be discussed. Trait Approach Trait approach is defined as "personal attributes (or traits) of leaders, such as physical and personality characteristics, competencies, and values"(Fleenor, 2006, p. 830). The idea behind early research was that certain people had traits from birth that enabled them to be leaders. Researchers have created lists to describe the character traits...

...LDR/531 October 11, 2012 Week # 1 Individual Leadership Approach Paper Leadership in Organization Robin Muse Leadership has been defined in multiple ways. The subject of leadership has intrigued many individuals and has been speculated by research that probed a growing interest in understanding leadership and the process involving different teams and organizations. Although there are many effective and ineffective ways to merge people to lead, it has been difficult to define the “term” leadership. There is no doubt that the leadership position simplifies the influence to guide, structure, and facilitate activities over other people, it also shares a specialized process that influence the role of leadership. ...Leadership Approach Paper Zahíra Martínez LDR/531 May 28, 2012 Ben MC Collum Leadership Approach Paper During the reading of the paper the reader will be learning about the Behavioral Theory found as a result of study about leadership it has produced a multitude of perspectives and theories. The Behavioral Theory in one of few theories that can be found on the studies of leadership. Each theory has its pro and cons where not everyone can concord with the same opinion to each theory. The theory centers on what leaders actually do, rather than on their personal characteristics. The Ohio State leadership studies of the 1940s are the most well-known and influential research inquiry in this area (Bensimon et al., 1989; Hoy & Miskel, 1996; Bass, 1990). The leader behavior description questionnaire (LBDQ) established measures two basic dimensions of leadership: initiating structure (task oriented) and consideration (relationship oriented) (Hoy & Miskel). Since early studies using the LBDQ indicated that the two dimensions are separate and distinct, dividing each dimension into high or low sections can create four quadrants or leadership styles. According to the LBDQ, administrators are most effective when they score high in consideration and initiating structure. Another application of this perspective is the managerial grid developed by Blake and Mouton (1964). It measures a person's leadership style by "detecting the degree of concern for production (task oriented)...

Espy-Cook LDR/531 Organizational Leadership December 6, 2011 Bobby Bates Leadership Approach Paper Leadership is a subject that has long excited interest among people. The term connotes images of powerful, dynamic individuals who command victorious armies, direct corporate empires from atop gleaming skyscrapers, or shape the course of nations (Yukl, p. 1, 2010). Behaviors are an important approach in leadership. Working as a manager in an organization leaves much opportunity to view outstanding leadership behaviors as well as bad leadership behaviors. In observations poor leadership took a reactive approach in areas of multi-tasking the managers often pushing their work off on other supervisors he or she managed or employees that he or she knew would get the job done with no questions ask. Poor leaders need to begin with the basics in knowing what defines leadership. One common indicator of leader effectiveness is the extent to which the performance of the team or organizational unit is enhanced and the attainment of goals is facilitated. (Yukl, p. 10. 2010). Strength of the behavior approach to leadership is a wide scope of what a leader does in certain situations. There are a variety of studies with creditable research that agree with the behavior approach to leadership. The behavior approach to leadership can be divided into two categories task and relationship. Engaging in a proactive approach...
