LEADERSHIP APPROACHES AND MODELS

Introduction
This paper introduces two models that support innovation in today’s business world. The Transformational Leadership Model and the Situational Model. Both models are described in depth and show how they can be used in today`s diverse workforce. The Discovery and Delivery Skills describes how the research in the Innovators DNA provides an inside look into how you can become more innovative.
In today`s fast pace get it done era, innovation is key in the success of any business. Leadership is vitally important and to combine styles and models to achieve success is needed in today`s market. Discovery and Delivery is an area where every leader or potential leader must take a look at their own strengths and weakness and reevaluate what they need to do to improve.

Leadership Models that Support Innovation in Organizations
Transformational Leadership Model: Transformational leadership theory, started with the works of Burns and was later researched and supported by Bass. Bass took the concepts of Burns into a more operational working model that is commonly referred to as the Transformational Leadership Model. Five categories were established originally in the works of Bass and Avolio; they were idealized influence as: attributed charisma, behavioral charisma, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration (Antonakis and House, 2014). With the five parts idealized influence/attributed charisma is the emotional part of the leaders` behavior that moves the followers from the “me first” to the “we first” position. The idealized influence/behavioral charisma is the leaders` sense of goal or mission which in turn drives the ethics and moral behavior of the followers. The intangible behavior, of inspirational motivation, gives the confidence to the followers to reach that

Classification of Motivation Theories

...cation A Classification of Motivation Theories (Content vs. Process) Motivation theories can be classified broadly into two different perspectives: Content and Process theories. Content Theories deal with “what” motivates people and it is concerned with individual needs and goals. Maslow, Alderfer, Herzberg and McCelland studied motivation from a “content” perspective. Process Theories deal with the “process” of motivation and is concerned with “how” motivation occurs. Vroom, Porter & Lawler, Adams and Locke studied motivation from a “process” perspective. 1. Content Theories about Motivation Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs When motivation theory is being considered the first theory that is being recalled is Maslow’s hierarchy of needs which he has introduced in his 1943 article named as “A Theory of Human Motivation”. According to this theory, individual strives to seek a higher need when lower needs are fulfilled. Once a lower-level need is satisfied, it no longer serves as a source of motivation. Needs are motivators only when they are unsatisfied. In the first level, physiological needs exist which include the most basic needs for humans to survive, such as air, water and food. In the second level, safety needs exist which include personal security, health, well-being and safety against accidents remain. In the third level, belonging needs exit. This is where people need to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance. It is about relationships, families...

Keeping Luxury Inaccessible

...three new analytical tools to ensure they stay ‘in front of the pack’. The paper starts by assessing what luxury was and is today and how and why it has evolved so far. It looks at Mass and Intermediate luxuries and then discusses three models to assess also Inaccessible luxury. The three models specifically developed by the authors are: 1. The Tangibility of Luxury, 2. The Spectrum of Luxury and 3. Brand Identity of Luxury. It will be shown that a luxury product can indeed migrate towards intermediate and mass luxuries when its traits become tangible and when rarity turns into abundance and luxury becomes accessible. The authors promote the idea that this process can be controlled by the enterprise or industry providing the brand, product traits and distribution are managed accordingly. The authors also examine the particular linkage between rational and emotional value through the brand and map the degree of luxury of a brand by assessing what actually differentiates the luxury products from the rest. This is not done in the traditional way of assessing the marketing mix (4P, 6P or 7p etc.) or examining the key features of the product but by building and managing a more integrated and knowledgeable approach, supported by the proposed models. Although the paper makes strong reference to luxury fashion, the comments, concepts and counselling provided are applicable also to luxury yachts, sports cars, real estate, banking etc. Keywords: Luxury, Inaccessibility, Fashion,...
