1. IN YOUR OWN WORDS ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS - What is a trait? Describe the trait theory of leadership? How are traits related to the leadership process? Pick 2 leaders we have read about in our text and describe their personal traits. What sort of traits are inspiring and motivating to you?
Traits are characteristics or quality in person. Every one of us has a different combination of traits that make each and every one of us unique in his or her way. There are two different kind of traits; physical and behavior traits. Physical traits make up one physical look such as hair color, eye, color, height, weight, and etc. While behaviors traits are characteristics in which a person acts. An example of this is a mother’s instinct to protect her children and keep them safe.
The trait theory of leadership suggests that there are no set combinations or specific traits that make a good leader. Instead leadership traits are those traits that do not change from situation from situation, such as intelligence, assertiveness, or physical attraction. There are certain traits that make an individual more effective in certain situations but may differ from situation to situation.
Traits are related to the leadership process because having certain traits can make a person a successful leader. Some traits that make a good leader are determination, self-confidence, and sociability. Leaders with a strong determination allow
