Learning Style Results
Everyone has their own way of learning. When they are put in an environment where they can use their specific learning styles, it tends to be easier on them. When put in an environment where they are not comfortable with the learning styles, it is harder for them to adapt and learn. This paper examines the different types of one learner has been assessed as having.
Results and Reaction
After completing the learning style questionnaire, the learner styles have been assessed. The learner has a more reflective style rather than active. This means that the leaner tends to think things through before jumping in and trying something out. The learner is also more of a sensing learner than an intuitive leaner, meaning that they like learning the facts oppose to discovering new possibilities. The learner has learned they are more likely to learn better with visual objects rather than a verbal conversation or lecture. The last method they were assessed on showed that they were a more sequential learner than a global leaner, meaning they prefer structure and order whereas a global learner jumps around within a structure and will learn by suddenly understanding something. The learner’s reaction to this assessment was good. The learner style they thought would fit them best were the styles that showed as their stronger styles.
Based on the results provided to the learner, an online learning environment would be a suitable way for them to learn. For the learner, the most important learning style for them would be that there is structure to a course. Within an online learning environment, typically most courses provide this structure.

...Learning is an essential part of everyday life both in academic and professional situations. The skill of knowing how to learn is important for every student, individual and worker. The main purpose of this essay is discuss how theories and concepts about individual learning and how it can be useful for employees and managers who wish to improve learning in an organisation. Learning is a relatively permanent change in behaviour, cognition or affect that occurs as a result of one’s interaction with the environment (DeSimone, Werner, & Harris, 2002, p. 75). Teaching methods also vary. Some instructors lecture, others demonstrate or lead students to self-discovery; some focus on principles and others on applications; some emphasize memory and others understanding. When mismatches exist between learning styles of most students in a class and the teaching style of the professor, the students may become bored and inattentive in class, do poorly on tests, get discouraged about the courses, the curriculum, and themselves, and in some cases change to other curricula or drop out of school. Professors, confronted by low test grades, unresponsive or hostile classes, poor attendance and dropouts, know something is not working. ...Learning Styles and Strategies  My learning style is generally well balanced between active, reflective, sensing and intuitive learning. However, I have a more moderate preference toward the visual learning over verbal and the sequential over global learning.  The results of my test did not surprise me. I realize that I comprehend better when shown how to do something over reading directions from a text. I feel the assessment of my test was very valid and the questions that were asked were relative to the process. I believe that my test results were very accurate.  As a learner the instructional strategies that work best for me are the visual along with sequential and I would use these in a classroom with games, graphs, pictures, charts, films, and other tools.  To help students that do not learn in the same way, an instructor must incorporate other strategies in the classroom to accommodate each of the different learning styles.
