...Benefits of Learning and Technology Today, technology is a major part of life. Schools and workplaces alike are utilizing the modern forms of learning and communication to teach material and get work done. From online presentations to budding autodidacts, technology plays a major role in the school system today. It is found that over seventy-four percent of educators in the United States alone support the use of technology (Mehlinger, Powers). Projected as early as 1996, it was said that technology would reform schools for the better (Knapp, Roehrig, Glenn). And, this statement is not far from the truth. Technology has proven itself to be a growing advancement in instructional settings and for personal use, and impacts us in different ways. Various types of technology in schools have impacted students for the better by promoting personalized learning with three easy steps. The first step to incorporating technology in schools is familiarization. This step requires both the instructor and student to learn the product or software they plan to integrate into education. Familiarization may lead to using the tools the student and teacher get acquainted to, but it may also lead to ideas and new experiences that help the expanding of knowledge. This initial process has several flaws and is very likely the most time consuming. This phase contains a good bit of instructional innovation as it may start and end the integration process. Even though several students may not want to endure...

I have great experience on the education at secondary school level, from standard V to standard IX,( age between 10-15 years). Over crowded classes (180:1,student teacher ratio) , first generation learners, ignorance of parents as well as the society, very poor financial condition, superstition, under aged marriage of girls are the hindrance of the education. I am facing every day being the Head of an educational institute. More over the drastic shortage of teachers in the Govt. Aided institutions, political interference, lack of infrastr4uctures, lack of financial aids are very painful for proper educational development. There are other problems also. But within these adverse situations the education system need to be nourished by developing proper learning environments or technologies. From my experience I think the followings are the major environments or technologies need to be developed. 1. To develop centralized monitoring system and centralized addressing system: As this system is well known in developed countries but it is not well practiced in developing or underdeveloped countries. ...DIMENSIONALITY REDUCTION ON SECURITY BASED TAM IN E-LEARNING : EXPLORATORY ANALYSIS Abstract: Software organizations and educational institutions rely heavily upon e-learning technologies nowadays. There is a requirement to know how numerous interventions can influence the recognized determinants of IT design, acceptance and usage. The statistical meta-analysis of several prototypes, particularly the technology acceptance model (TAM) studies have shown that it is a valid and robust model that has been very widely used, but which hypothetically has broader applicability. Though TAM has been considered to be one of the most widely used models in Information Systems and Technology, however, it is imperfect. There have been numerous researches...

...Trends of Learning Styles through Technology By Carl Schmeil While technology will continue to grow, it will also continue to advance at the academic level as well. The infusion of computers started years ago back in the 80, and is still pushing people to use them more and more frequently than ever. Even if you call for the use of the graphing calculator in the daily classroom, there is still the fact that many standardized tests don’t even allow for calculators. There is a constant need and desire for teachers to have more and more technical equipment. This has happened for years with T.V., radios, Telephones, internet, calculators, projectors, and much more. This will continue to happen for years to come. This trend will continue to grow at a rapid pace as more and more studies are done on the effectiveness of technology in the classroom. It will give kids a better medium to discover how they learn and what works best for them. Yet ultimately for every student who responds well to technology, another will not. There needs to be balance and social skills to be developed in the classroom for many students. So while we might see more and more classrooms implement technology, at the same time there must be teachers who can explain things to students on a one on one level. This topic has brought us to the realization of the needs of different styles of students. Almost every student is capable of reaching a potential they never dreamed of, but without a good...

Abstract Ownership of mobile smartphones amongst the general consumer, professionals and students is growing exponentially. The potential for smartphones in education builds upon experience described in the extensive literature on mobile learning from the previous decade which suggests that the ubiquity, multi-functionality and connectivity of mobile devices offers a new and potentially powerful networked learning environment. This paper reports on a collaborative study conducted by an undergraduate student with the support of two members of academic staff. The research sought to establish the extent to which students are autonomously harnessing smartphone technology to support their learning and the nature of this use. Initial findings were explored through...
