In this report, a male respondent has been interviewed using the Adolescent Leisure Interest Profile (Henry, 2008) to obtain his activity patterns. The first part will introduce some background information of the respondent and a brief description of the interviewing process. The results of the profile will be demonstrated in the second part. The next part will provide an overall view of the respondent's leisure and interest patterns comparing to the Australian counterparts reported in other literatures, and clarify the differences if any exists. Both intrinsic and extinct contributors of the respondent's leisure interests will be analysed, whenever from the past or current circumstances. Lastly, a reflection of administrating this profile …show more content…
The interest score of Lee for the first category “sports activities” is 1.375 out of 3, which indicates that he is not interest in sports. Interestingly, he selected “very” for basketball — the only one sport he did among eight items. He told me that he started to play the basketball in year 10 but soon surpassed all of his classmates. To achieve this, he spent time watching video tutorials and practicing. He also regarded volleyball as “somewhat interested” but he have not tried it yet. The frequency, quality of performance and enjoyment of the basketball is 1.25 out of 5, 2 out of 3 and 3 out of 3 respectively which showed that Lee really likes it. And he always plays it with friends. Similar situations are noticed in “outdoor activities” and “club/community activities” where low attendance are found. Although the interest index for outdoor pursuits is 1.82 whereas 1.4 for club and community activities, Lee only attended three of each of them. Comparing to club / community activities, Lee is more attracted by outdoor pursuits yet he attend them at the same rate*(see reflection). In view of the interest level, it is not surprisingly that Lee enjoyed more and performed better in outdoor pursuits with the indices of 2.67 and 2.33 comparing to club and community activities with indices of 2 and 2. As claimed by Lee, the shared motivation of joining camping, scouting and red cross for volunteering is the medals or certifications. In general, Lee participated all the club and community activities with his friends; for outdoor activities, he spend two thirds of time with friends and one third of time with

Fashion Theory

...Fashion in the Gilded Age: A Profile of Newport’s King Family The Gilded Age in America lasted from 1870 to 1914. The Gilded Age has typically been defined by the decadent and lavish standard of living enjoyed by America's most wealthy and influential families. The complexities and sartorial transitions of the age can be seen through a lens focused on the King family of Newport. On the surface, David and Ella King were 'Old New York Society' industrialists who spent their summers in the fashionable seaside resort of Newport, Rhode Island and appeared to be the ultimate perpetrators of behavior and spending. The whirl of social activity that David King was involved in suggests that Ella King would have needed an extensive wardrobe in order to be appropriately attired for her diverse social obligations. The wealthy engaged in such social rituals because they understood that their participation was pertinent to maintaining good social standing. In addition, the King’s had established a household in Paris, which was also used as a starting point for their extended travels within Europe. This gave Ella access to a wide variety of couture and custom-made sportswear, which was fashionable during the Gilded Age. The houses of Worth, Doucet, Paquin, Redfern, Felix, Rouff and E. Raudnitz were some of the famous couturiers of the time that dresses Ella. Clothing expenditures at all social levels are driven by the need for a respectable appearance rather than by the more basic need of protection...

Rocky has problems with inventory management, low ratio of sales by walk in customers and his major source of sales for teams declining due to lack of registration in local teams. Despite being located in a prosperous neighborhood with little competition except a small, older Canadian tire that offers low prices but lacks in quality and customer service, The Sports Guy is having financial troubles. Problem Statement and Objectives The Sports Guy’s profitability has not been growing sufficiently enough to provide Rocky with the means to grow his company as the town develops. A lack of inventory system which affects his most profitable sales group: walk-ins has also increased his short term debt and interest expenses which all eat away at the already tight profit margins.
