Drill * Using flashcards, the pupils will read the words being shown/ flash to them. (The teacher will read first before the pupils.) * After they read the words, every row should read again. Developmental Activities 1. Presentation * And now children, based on that activity, what do you think is our new lesson this morning? * Student 3? * * Excellent that is correct! * * Yes! Our lesson this morning is all about shapes or the common shapes. 2. Discussion (The teacher will show real objects to the class such as clock, book and etc.)And after that the teacher will ask the pupils if what the shapes of those objects are.) * When we say common shapes these are the shapes that we can see everywhere. * * Look at around these room children, what things have shapes of square, rectangle, circle and triangle? * * The square, rectangle, triangle and circle are called common shapes. * * Let us discuss first the square. Look at this figure children. * What is the shape of this figure? * Correct this is a square. Everybody let us spell the word square. (Everybody say the word, spell the word and say the word.) * The square children has four equal sides and four equal corners. * And now what have you observe from the sides and corners of the square? * Yes, student 4? * Very good! * A square has 4 equal sides and 4 equal corners. * Children who want to point to us the corners and sides of the square? * Student 1? * Very good ! * And now children let us draw the shape of the square on the air. * Very good children! * (The teacher will show a rectangle to the class.) * Children, what is the shape of this figure? * Correct! This is a rectangle. * A rectangle has 4 corners and the two opposite sides of the rectangle are equal. * Everybody let us spell the word rectangle. (Everybody say the word, spell the word and say the word.) * The difference between the rectangle and the square is that the square has four equal sides while the rectangle has two equal opposite sidesl. * Everybody let us draw again a rectangle on the air. * Always remember children that we can describe the shape by counting their corners and sides. * The teacher will show a triangle to the class. * Children what is the shape of this figure? * Good! Group Activity- At this point in time we will be having a group activity.- I want you to group yourselves into four groups.- Our game this morning is all about “Arranging scrambled words.” - This game goes like this. I have here four different scrambled words. First I am going to give the scrambled words to your respective groups and you are going to arrange the scrambled words based on the description that I’m going to describe.- Second, please cooperate to your groups and if you are finish just raise your board that I am going to give you so that we will see if what group is the winner. Just wait the signal of “Go” before you arrange the word.- The first group to finish will be the winner. 1. A (useraq) has four equal sides and corners. 2. ...COLLAPSE There are a variety of problem solving methods for disciplinary issues that teachers experience with students. When a teacher is actively handling an issue with students, peer mediation can be a productive way to handle conflict. Peer mediation can be effective with a variety of ages. Working in Kindergarten, I couldn’t use this strategy initially. Now, I often use this strategy. The reason I have not been able to use peer mediation all year is because students are often time learning policies and procedures for the first time. They have to learn how to positively interact with peers and to treat other children as they would want to be treated. At this point in the year, I have several students that serve as “super citizens” that I often turn to when I can’t seem to get through to a troubled or disruptive student. These student(s) reinforce positive behavior support with their classmate(s) that are having an outburst, not compliant, or those that have a disability in some cases.
