The results of the self-description are plotted on a circular graph for easy visualization of how the individual thinks and behaves in the 12 LSI styles. By responding to these 240 inventory items, individuals learn exactly where they need to focus their development efforts, without uncertainty. ...PERSONAL THINKING STYLES After completion of the Life Styles Inventory Assessment, it was determined that my primary thinking style is oppositional. I ranked in the 87th percentile in this category. An oppositional person tends to disagree with others and seek attention by being critical and cynical. Some of the characteristics of an oppositional individual are asking probing questions, being argumentative, having a negative attitude, and a sarcastic sense of humor. I was actually shocked with these results, but realized the more I read the descriptions that I actually possess some of the characteristics listed. Some of the attributes of the oppositional individual that I have are asking the probing questions, looking for flaws, and sometimes having a negative attitude. These characteristics manifest in both my every day and work life. I tend to ask the questions to make sure I understand what is going on and to make sure that the decisions being made have been thought through. The Avoidance style of thinking reveals an individual’s tendency to be apprehensive and self-protective. This mean people with such a style of thinking are eager to stay away from risk. Moreover, in reviewing more in depth towards the final results, some of the outcomes are not exactly what I was expecting. In areas I thought should have resulted in a superlative score it barely met expectation in my scheme of things.
