In Lila Abu-Lughod’s “Seductions of the ‘Honor Crime’”, the author makes the point that the prevalence of honor crimes in the middle-east is overblown and that attacks against honor crimes are more often than not actually directed towards the culture of the middle-east while hidden under the guise of pro-women’s rights rhetoric.
