...Spilling every lie you've spilled before, still I'm not forgiving you. What's happened between us? What can I give to save us? Being righteous isn't quite enough! What's happened between us? What can I give to save me? ~A Single Moment Of Sincerity Album: Stand Up And Scream Asking Alexandria, a band that started in Dubai actually by lead guitarist Ben Bruce and his friends. They weren’t called Asking Alexandria at first, but they later changed their name to AA and then disbanded. Ben moved back to the U.K and was looking for bandmates where he saw Danny Worsnop’s cover of a song from the band Alesana. Ben contacted Danny and they started the band Asking Alexandria. They recruited other members such as Cameron Liddell (guitarist) and James Cassells (drummer) and finally Sam Bettley (bassist). The gang flew out to the U.S and started looking for a studio and record label – which they found shortly after their arrival. They recorded their first album Stand Up And Scream with producer Joey Sturgis and under the record label Sumerian Records. (Grand record label if I might add) Their debut album was released Sep. 15th 2009. They started touring and endured in countless interviews. *Interview time children* Interviewer: So guys, can I have you personally introduce yourself and your role in the band? Danny: Hi I’m Danny and I play the voice thing. Ben: I’m Ben and I play guitar and sometimes backing vocals. James: Hi I’m James and I play the drooms. (Drums) Cam: I’m Cam and...

In addition, the most activity of shopping in cruise ship is selling arts. However, Carnival has also met some problems in political, health, economic issue and the weather. 1. ...However, even despite the forecasts predicting a further increase in profit, Royal Caribbean along with the cruise line industry is still in a delicate position. The case constantly brings up the point that cruises are solely a purchase based off of discretionary income. In times of economic struggle, discretionary items like cruises are left out of the budget. Another issue that the case brought up with every factor discussed is Royal Caribbean being 2nd place in the world for market share, bested by Carnival Cruise Lines. The case goes back and forth debating whether or not its position within the market share is a good thing. While they by far are in 2nd place, Royal Caribbean has a special niche in the market being the luxury cruise liner with the newer and nicer ships. Overall, the largest theme in this case study is the uncertainty of the cruise industry with the unpredictable economy that may or may not be recovering. Strategic & Financial Objectives The first and most important financial objective Royal Caribbean should set is to completely rethink the travel agent component. RC needs to implement an online system that is easy to use and understand, with an IT support for baby boomers that aren’t technology friendly. Outsourcing a call center and paying some web designers is a fixed cost that will cut costs and remove...

...The Hairy Ape "The Hairy Ape" tells the story of a laborer, Yank. He is searching for belonging throughout the play. In the beginning, he feels secure in his role as a fireman of an ocean liner. But when Mildred Douglas comes to the stokehole, she sees him and calls him a filthy beast, which causes an identity crisis in Yank. He goes to New York and finds that he doesn't belong there, either. Eventually, he goes to see the gorillas in the zoo, and the beast kills him in the end of the play. Yank is a representative of an early 20th century industrial worker who loses faith in the machine. The world in "The Hairy Ape" is bleak. Man has lost faith in himself. Many people have idealized wealth and privilege. O'Neill uses Yank's search for belonging to show that loss of faith ends up in death. O'Neill uses steel throughout the story to represent strength. Steel also represents the cage that Yank feels that he is in. This cage is first symbolized by the fireman's forecastle of the ocean liner. "The lines of bunks, the uprights supporting them, cross each other like the steel framework of a cage."(1103) The workers are described as brutes, "hairy-chested, with long arms of tremendous power, and low, receding brows above their small, fierce, resentful eyes."(1104) This description could be used by many to describe the gorilla later in the play. Yank represents their leader, and in the beginning of the story, the men agree with his opinion, and follow along with his jokes when...

...1. Some of the global forces that contributed to the growth of cruise lines are that they took place on the open sea. The possibilities for passengers were endless. It was normal for people to travel by boat for business or as a job, but to travel on a cruise line for vacation on the open sea made the idea of it all exciting and intriguing. Another factor is that the ports that all the cruise lines were embarking from led to a mass market. Another factor that contributed to the growth of the cruise-line industry would be the beginning of Transocean air services. 2. Some national differences cruise lines have run into are safety issues, economic issues, and weather. In 1985, aboard a Mediterranean cruise ship, terrorists apprehended the ship. Before 9/11, cruise lines were installing massive security checks for all passengers. Of course, post 9/11 passengers started canceling bookings and in turn Carnival increased the number of U.S. ports to make passengers feel safer. Carnival also redeploys cruise lines to stay away from areas that might be experiencing political upheaval or crime. During times of recession, trip takers wanted to take short trips and travel to places nearby rather than faraway. But surprisingly enough, during recessions, it was cruise lines ships that kept their passengers and bookings. Why you may ask? This was due to the fact that cruise lines offered all-inclusive packages. Carnival began offering discounts in times of recession. Another factor is weather...

...Papathanasis & Beckmann, 2011; Weaver, 2005). With the extended facilities offered, competitive pricing and aggressive marketing campaigns we think our cruise business will give its guests an elite type of vacation which they can remember for their rest of life. HR Strategy of Cruise Business Cruise business is simple managing a floating resort. This business is very closely related with hospitality rather than sport, recreation, entertainment, beauty, health and therapy. On the other hand if the human resource management is not proper in such case this would not bring any effective result for such kind of business. The HR personnel of this cruise will also maintain different partnerships with different department of this cruise liner in order to serve all parties in the best interest of the business. By confronting different issues and getting feedback it will report to the manager so that the performance of the overall team can be better. HR personnel also should develop business strategies that are in alignment with the cruise’s business objectives, by focusing on all aspects of the human asset. Continuously improving the HR practices of the cruise business, by keeping a pulse of the cruise’s culture is another major role of this department. Working on a cruise ship in different than working on a land based hotel for some reasons. It is because the social interactions of the employees are limited and their activities are managed over long period of time inside of the...

...objective of Carnival Corporationidea of fun ship vacation) -development of services that support IB (advantages of lower taxes and less stringent employment rules) 2. In the past, ships were only used for transporting people across oceans and seas for business or pleasure, but the sea voyage was an essentially elitist endeavor, and very luxury and expensive. The advent of transoceanic air service after World War II offered a speedier and less expensive alternative, and airlines captured passengers from ocean liners. Furthermore, advances in jet technology made air travel a viable option for a growing mass market of budget-minded international travelers. As a consequence, cruise companies one by one retired the great luxury lines for travels. In this context, carnival cruise lines saw an opportunity to expand mass-market sea travel by promoting the idea of the ”fun ship” vacation, an excursion designed to be a little less formal and luxurious than the traditional ocean liner. Moreover, a lot of these vacationers gravitated to holidays (group tours, theme-park visits, and sojourns in Las Vegas) that were compatible with the Fun Ship concept. 3. Companies can obtain “flag of convenience” from about 30 different countries. By registering as a Liberian legal entity for example a company can take advantage of lower taxes and less stringent employment rules. Different nations also have different port...

...The firemen, workers who shovel coal into the engine of a Transatlantic Ocean Liner, sit in the forecastle of the ship drinking and carrying on with each other. They are an hour out of New York City and have seven more days aboard ship. The men are burly and muscular. Yank, the fiercest looking of the men, sits in the foreground quietly. Whenever Yank speaks the men immediately hush. Yank asks for a beer and the men immediately give one to him. As Yank and the men drink, Yank remains in control as the leader of the group. Yank and the men joke about thinking as they drink. Yank, in a joke repeated during the play, tells the men to be quiet because he is trying to "tink." The men mockingly repeat after him, "think" and then erupt into a chorus of "Drink, don't think!" Cutting through the general mayhem, a drunken tenor sings a tune about his lass at home. Talk of home outside the ocean liner infuriates Yank and he tells the tenor to be quiet. Long, quite drunk, stands up and makes a Marxist speech, preaching to the men that if the ship is home, their home is hell and the Upper Class put them there. Yank tells him to join the Salvation Army and get a soapbox. Paddy, a wise, older fireman tells the men that life on an Ocean Liner is hell by comparison to his life on a Clipper Ship. Paddy reminisces about the freedom he enjoyed, the purpose he had and skill for which he was valued. Yank tells Paddy that he is dead, "living in the past of dreams" and glorifies his own job as the strength...

...A look at linear programming, using the simplex method Earlier in the class we were introduced to linear programming and now we are going to introduce a different method using a more geometric version called the simplex method. First, I am going to have to explain theory of the simplex method and then we’ll explain the real world uses of this algebraic math Ok, so earlier in the class we were introduced into liner equations and inequalities. With the simplex method we are going got look for what is called “The Optimum Solution”, but in order to find the optimum solution we need to change the linear equation so that it can be recognized differently and computer in geometric form as well as on our graph. We are now going to use a special matrix or TABLEAU to find the many variables and to solve for an optimum solution by substituting some of our variables into our sometimes large programming problem. I must say that the problem could sometimes result in a solution or it may also have no solution at all. Once we find that some of the test are confirmed with the simplex method and we come to the optimal solution the process itself stops. With this method we don’t have to consider that the amount of corner point will increase with the amount of variables, since we are only looking for the optimal solution. In the text we are given many examples of what this simplex method of linear programming problems. As I have read throughout the chapters I see that the most probable applications...
