In the poem, “Ye White Antarctic Birds” written by Lisa Jarnot, I think there is a depiction of what New York City is like. New York City is the people who live in it, they are the people who discover but also cause chaos. As someone who has lived in New York for all my life, I have noticed the characterizations of specific people who live there, the differences between the homeless crazy people who live in the streets and the elite social group who live in big skyscrapers. One thing that stood out to me was the context that the author wrote in and how it can easily relate to how the homeless people spoke in NYC.
