She pushes herself further than she ever has before, “Just one more mile,” she tells herself. She steps one foot in front of the other for just one more mile. One more mile will make it a total of six miles she has been continuously been running. “Push through the pain, feel the burn. It will all be worth it once it is over. You will feel so proud of yourself. Just keep running! You can do it! Keep going! One foot, then the other; you are almost there,” she motivates herself. I remember that day and how accomplished I felt when I reached the end of my run. I also remember when I could barely even run one mile. That was the beginning of it, the beginning of my quest to live a healthier lifestyle. It wasn’t not easy, and it still isn’t remains a challenge even today. It takes hard work and motivation to push yourself past your limits and to commit to living a healthier lifestyle. You can do it! You just have must simply to get started and make a commitment to yourself. I began got started by becoming a member at the local Y.M.C.A. Personally, I find it is easier to be a member at a gym than to work out at home. I prefer the gym because they have a wide variety of equipment that which I like to use. It is helpful to me that there are other people around to who keep me motivated. I find myself getting realize that I am easily distracted at home, although there are days when I do my workout at home there. It really is an individual choice whether you prefer to work out at home or in a gym. Deciding to work out at the gym or at home is an individual preference.
I enjoy the classes the gym provides; because they are interesting and make my workouts working out more enjoyable. I suggest getting involved in group classes. They help you learn new exercises and proper form which will improves your workout. I also suggest them because they push you further and harder than you may push yourself, which resultings in a better workout. Whichever way you decide to How to workout is entirely up to you because the important thing is that you to get started. Motivation is one of the key components to working out. My motivation first came from the doctor and the discovery that my medical issues made it extremely important to exercise regularly. If I do not live a healthier lifestyle and begin to work out on a regular basis then I could potentially developed Type 2 Diabetes. it would be easy for me to become a Type 2 Diabetes patient. Thatis is something I do not ever never want to happen to me! I hate needles and the thought of having to giveing myself shots regularly was enough motivation for me. Find your motivation, Whether it is due to medical concerns or personal reasons, find your motivation and remember it, and use it. It will help you. Your motivation may change over time, but it will help you regardless. Perhaps it starts off as a medical reason and then becomes personal. Maybe you have a vacation planned and you want to look good in your swimsuit. Remember your reason every time you do not feel like going to the gym. Remember it when you want that second helping but know you don’tnot really need it. Post reminders of your motivation everywhere: on your refrigerator, pantry, cupboards, planners, and calendar - anywhere you can think of! Use those visual cues to remember why you are working out and what you are aiming for. Make goals, but keep them simple. It is better to exceed your goal than to not reach it and get discouraged. At the same time, do not make them extremely easy – always push yourself. Take it one day at a time and one week at a time. Choose a day to sit down and make an exercise plan for the week. Plan out what you are going to do each day. Follow it to the best of your ability, but it is okay alright if you don’t not follow each day exactly as what you planned. Life is complicated, and can sometimes it gets in the way of oureven the best laid plans. There will be days when you are extra tired or sore and need an easier day. It is fine to adapt your plan as long as you stay motivated and continue working out.
You should include rest days in your plan. I normally work out five days a week and give my body two days off to rest and recover. There are occasions when I have to miss a planned day at the gym because of unexpected events in my day. On those days I try to be more active in my everyday activity. such as For example, taking stairs instead of elevators or walking the longer route to get somewhere rather than taking the short cut. There any many things you can do throughout the day to remain stay active. You just have to look for the opportunity and take it. Use Take every opportunity to move that you canpossible. When you have an extra twenty minutes to work out – do it.go for it. If you don’t not have twenty minutes, then find ten. Be creative and keep moving throughout the day.
Commit to a lifestyle that which includes exercise and healthy eating. Do it for yourself in order to make yourself feel better, healthier, stronger and even more beautiful. It has been proven that women who work out on a regular basis have higher self-esteem than women who do not. Do this for yourself and not for anyone else. If you commit to working out for other people you may not feel the same sense of accomplishment in yourself. You may feel more pressure to reach a goal by a certain date which will only causes more stress. Stress makes living a healthy life more difficult. When people feel stressed we seek things which will that relieve our stress us. For many women that relief tends to be chocolate or some kind of traditional comfort food. Of course, overeating will only set us back and create more discouragement in ourselves. It is important to always remember why you started living this lifestyle for yourself.
Commit to living a healthier lifestyle for yourself, to live a healthier lifestyle for you. Keep your head up! T because times will be tough. There will be days when working out is the last thing you want to do, but do it anyway. It will make you feel proud of yourself for a job well done. Push yourself to reach new limits! Do things you didn’t not think you could were able to do. have done before. because you can. You can do anything as long as you put your mind to it. Continue to tell yourself that you want to live a healthier lifestyle. You can do it! Never give up! Never let one bad day be enough to stop you. Be aware of your weaknesses and avoid them. One day you will realize that you do not have to work as hard to reach your goals because living healthier has become your lifestyle.

...own in the future. I would like to ask the young people reading this: Do you ever wonder what you will do to earn a living, what your career will consist of? Do you ever wonder how successful you are going to be, or what things you will be able to accomplish? Do you ever wonder if you will be able to enjoy the “good life” and afford the nicer than average things? Do you wonder if you will wind up having a job that you enjoy, or one that you must do out of necessity? Will you be able to support yourself and a family and own a nice home and automobile—all of those things we think of as the “American Dream”? Probably most young people have these thoughts and questions from time to time. You may not worry about such things at this time in your life, but you do think about them. We are all aware of the economic downturn in the United States, as our nation faces many problems at this time. Unemployment problems are continually in the news with many major corporations laying off employees as part of necessary cutbacks. Some of these may already be affecting your family. Many of you harbor legitimate concerns and are uncertain about your future. Even with conditions that now occur in our economy, a way exists for you to be successful and to land a good job in this country. This key concept or way for you to be successful starts right now no matter your age or grade in school. It can be described in a word: diligence. Diligence means “steady, earnest, energetic application and effort...

Stolpestad

...Stolpestad In his short story, “Stolpestad” from 2008, William Lychack writes about the life of a police man, and how easy you can get stuck in life. Through a second person narrator technique, he highlights uncomfortable situations, loss of identity and the feeling of being stuck in life, showing that one most do what one likes, otherwise, you’ll lose in life In the short story, “Stolpestad”, is it clear that Stolpestad is stuck in his life. “The coffee shops, the liqoue stores, laundromats, police, fire, gas stations to pass – this is your life, Stolpestad”. Furthermore, Stolpestad seems to be genuine depressed as he says to himself “this is your life, Stolpestad” which shows that Stolpestad’s not where he wants to be in life as he has to end the sentence white “Stolpestad” as if he was not listening to himself. “As if you have seen or imagined or been through all of this before, or will be through it all again” The fact that Stolpestad feels like he has experienced things that he haven’t even tried yet, shows how much he has given up on life. Stolpestad’s sad view on life probably is a mix of his life going in circles, and the fact that he is constantly experiencing unpleasant things that just repeats and repeats itself throughout his life: “Your whole life spent along the same sad streets (..) as you pull around the house, as if you’ve seen or imagined or been through all of this before, or will be through it all again, over and over”. Moreover, instead of going home to...

...mystery of being me yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Who am I? I am Ian Daniel E. Villacarlos, a student, person, son, brother, and a faithful disciple of God. I am currently a student that lives in Caloocan. There are way too many ways to tell who I am but that would cut the thrill of being with me. These are some descriptions you can say to me as you observe. I am a simple, lazy, not-that-big person, naughty mischievous, moody, glutton, somehow sensitive type of person. I also like doing things that are not allowed, the more it is prohibited the more I try to do it. It is not bad to be daring maybe that’s why rules are made. In order for those persons who have guts to show what they have. Some of my likes would be: basketball, sports, excitement, foods, challenges, money, movies, games, sleep, color gray and black, branded clothes, and lots of stuff. My dislikes would be: defeat, boredom, complicated things, and so many more. I try to live my life in the simplest way as possible because I think excess things would only make things complicated. I live my life happily because I have my friends who are always there to cheer me up and also my family who supports me in what I do. It is fun to live with challenges that would test your capacities and would tell your boundaries but It is still upon you if you will let it overcome you and set the limits. It would be lame because limits is a foul word to me. I don’t know if this helped but I guess this is...

Three Things I Value Most

...When I was asked to write this, I was a bit overwhelmed because as I started reflecting on my life. And I was even more overwhelmed when I realized that, in the perspective of a full life. Nevertheless, I’ve adopted a few simple philosophies that have helped me get through life. Trust your instincts: Your instincts are there for a reason. So LISTEN TO YOURSELF!!! Recognize that feeling in your gut when something is off. Or let your instincts lead you to the right decision in an extremely difficult situation. It’s not always easy to trust them, and I’ve always found that, for some reason, the voice in your head called “logic” will try to hush those instincts. Logic will talk you into playing it safe and may rob you of opportunities. If I had listened to myself saying I lacked experience required to tackle the leadership positions. I would have lost the chance to positively impact myself and others, and I’d be a very different person right now. I’m not suggesting you dismiss your brain altogether. Just consider going with your instincts first, then incorporate logic second. “But what if my instincts are wrong?” Well, they will be sometimes, but you must possess the belief in yourself to allow those instincts to shine through and the confidence to act upon them. Which leads me to point #2… Live confidently: We all know someone that lives life with confidence. Can you picture him or her? In the most trying situations they can be calm, cool and collected. And their presence...

Spice Girls and Girl Power

...Research Essay Proposal Topic: Spice Girls and the normalizing spread of girl power Using Spice Girls as a point of study, I intend to research the spread in American popular culture of the ‘girl power’ phenomenon. It would discuss the nature of the idea (that female appearance and sensuality, and equality need not be mutually exclusive), how the concept relates to perceptions of gender roles and power through the lens of girl culture (for mainly the tween and teen groups) and the ways in which Spice Girls – as a major cultural phenomenon of the 1990s – promoted and normalized the idea. Depending on available information and depending on what the word count will allow, the essay will also look into the origins of the idea within pop (eg. Riot Grrrl, statements by Madonna, etc) and touch upon critiques of the supposed feminist aspects of the girl power movement, linking it to materialistic and consumerist norms of American and western culture. ...realized that living without it could potentially jeopardize your way of life, your career goals, but also your relationship with others. I like to believe that I live with personal responsibility every day just to live happily and to help me succeed in my goals. I have set goals in the past and achieved them using my experience as a female veteran and as an adult. It has been proven that if you don’t have a grip on your responsibilities, then you don’t have a grip on your own self-esteem and self worth (Rothbaum, Morling, & Rusk, 2009).   When an individual that does not have personal responsibility, their personal life could really lack fulfillment and pleasure in doing things. That person that has not realized that creating your own personal responsibility, you could live to your full potential and having everything you have ever wanted on a mental level and on a material level. When you lack a main aspect to live the right way, you cannot become satisfied with your life and that you are not doing anything to take charge of the problems you have acquired along the way from your incompetence. If you lack responsibility then you do not have any confidence (Clouder, 2009). Confidence is a feeling that anyone should have about life as an adult. An individual might find it hard to take charge of their life the way they want to because they aren’t confident that their life might change for the better. Confidence in your self and in others to take charge could be a good way to get...

...PURPOSEFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE Definition: Purposeful: having a useful purpose; acting with a clear aim and with determination. Christian Life: showing the qualities that are thought of as typical of a Christian, Christ like.. Some people say that we are just evolutionary result of the survival of the fittest Others think of reincarnation Most of our lives, we have been searching for a purpose for our lives, one that has a deeper meaning than just the basic action of existing on this planet. We felt that our lives were meant for something; and something meaningful and worthwhile that would give us a true reason to live. We searched for this purpose in things like relationships, a career, a job, a hobby, in school, and in many more things, only to find disappointment at every turn; because though these things could preoccupy us for a moment, they would ultimately fail at fulfilling our spiritual desire for a meaningful life. Then we find God, and we feel that we see our purpose clearly. We are full of excitement and hopeful to see what God will do with our lives. The overwhelming joy and excitement that drives us motivates us to share the good news with everyone around us, telling them of the great purpose that God has in store for our lives. We devote ourselves to learning more, growing more, and doing more for God. We surround ourselves with more and more people who call themselves Christians to glean as much as we can from them, astounded at the miraculous experiences...

...Week One – It all starts with God Romans 8:6: 5 -8Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God's action in them find that God's Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. And God isn't pleased at being ignored. Addiction Paper

...types of the word addiction are drugs and alcohol. But what most people don’t think about are all the other type of addictions that most people have when they don’t realize it. Beside the most typical addictions being drugs and alcohol there are many of ways to be addicted to things in life such as: social networking, gambling, shopping, sex and pornography. Drugs and alcohol are the most common and serious addictions that are out there. Having an addiction to alcohol completely takes over your life. You no longer have control of your life. The addiction of drinking alcohol is not a ‘once in a blue moon’ type thing, it’s where you wake up and you want a drink, you go to bed you want a drink and anytime in between. If you are caught hiding alcohol from a loved one, then you are definitely addicted to alcohol. There is no doubt in my mind! When you have a disease that is caused by the use of tobacco or alcohol and you still continue to smoke or drink, that’s an addiction. You have let your addiction take control of you and your life no matter if it meant it could kill you sooner rather than later. If instead of letting the addiction control you, why not control your addiction and try to live a lot longer...

...you work hard and follow the rules, you’ll make it-is alive and well (New York Post, Cover page).” Adam Shepard’s story is living proof of the things you can achieve by setting your mind to achieving a goal, and working hard to accomplish that goal. Many people in this country live life everyday thing “What if.” Everyday those people live their lives in pity, thinking that with this attitude their life is going to change. The thing that people need to understand is that it is a cruel world out there, and there is no one on this planet that is going to give you anything in this life, except your family and close friends. The only person capable of changing your life is you. People every day live their life content. Content with not accomplishing anything, living off Government funds and barely getting by. What kind of life is that? What people need to realize is that only you can pull yourself out of that situation. Look at half the people Adam meets in the Shelter. They are living their life content every day because everything is handed to them. They don’t have that drive to change their situation. People need to realize that not everyone is born into an ideal situation to start their lives, but you are the author of how you are going to live the rest of your life.
