Memory and Process Management A computer is very complex and can seem to be working fine until something unknown causes it to slow down. A person can have their computer for a short amount of time and then it slows down or they can have it for years and then start slowing down, it varies greatly and it just depends on the user and how they use their computer. But, a lot of computers over time slow down because of time and the years it’s had but that’s not always the case. When a computer system slows down, it doesn’t necessarily mean that maximum memory utilization has taken place, it can be a lot of things that slow it down. A person downloads files, surfs the internet, install and uninstall different software throughout time, and downloading can cause the reason of slowing down a PC. But, if it is a memory problem, then the person’s computer can run of disc space or RAM. The operating system I would use for the computer at home or laptop with me would be Fedora 20. I would use fedora 20 not only for good memory utilization but for the safeness of it. Also known as Linux, it’s free to install and doesn’t cost a dime to put on the computer. There is a lot of freedom with using Linux because unlike with other operating systems, a person can control every aspect of the operating system and with Linux, a person loses the risk of corrupting their system. If a computer is old and hardly has anymore processing and memory Linux is the perfect operating system because it’s basically a firewall and it is a backup server as well. Windows on the other hand, would have a hard time doing that.
Some operating systems a person can run at the same time but some cannot run at the same time it just depends on what two operating systems a person. I believe that a person can download a player that can run multiple operating systems at once, but without it, it will not work.
