The parking area was well lit with ample parking spaces available even though it was a Saturday night around 9:00 p.m. Upon entering, you are in front of the greeter’s desk where you are met with a friendly greeter with a beautiful smile. [Reword to make sentence flow better] You can smell the peanuts and see the floor covered with peanut hulls. You have a choice of sitting at a table, a booth or sitting at the bar. Logan’s Roadhouse is filled with the mixed aromas of menu choices being prepared. You are escorted to the seating area you have chosen.
However, to our surprise the entrees arrived before appetizers and I just had a gut feeling that everything would be downhill from here on and believe me it The correct side orders were not with the correct main dish, everyone had ordered steaks; but not the same kind of steak nor were they to be cooked to the same degree. The worst problem was with my mothers’ order, which was a T-bone steak to be cooked well-done (no one else ordered a T-bone) [unnecessary/irrelevant] and her order came back rare. As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, you should have seen my mother’s facial expression when she inserted her knife into her steak and blood oozed out; she was literally seething with fury and ready to walk out and E-mail the corporate office that night. The waitress was very apologetic and my mother was convinced to send the order back. The steak was returned charred on the outside and” medium rare” on the inside. I personally went to complain to the manager on duty, he informed me that he would personally prepare my mother’s meal and bring her meal to her. After waiting and waiting with no meal the waitress was summoned to the table, she stated, “I thought the manager took care of it. The manager was not to be found when I went up front. While observing the tables and booths in our seating area it was apparent that there was dissatisfaction with their meals also. The waitress informed us that the week-end nights [this read as fluff so my suggestion is to take it out] were not a good time to dine there. The waitressed stated that any week day would be a much better choice.
Taking the waitress up on her suggestion, I revisited Logan’s Roadhouse a week day afternoon and I must say that you would not believe that this was the same dining establishment. The waitress was very attentative [spell check] to our needs and the appetizers arrived before the entrees. The meal was prepared as ordered and was very satisfying to the palate, The meal consisted of T-bone steak, baked sweet potato loaded with plenty of butter sprinkled with nutmeg, a fresh garden salad and cheese cake with strawberry sauce and finished off with a glass of iced tea,.
The cooperate office in Nashville, TN [Tennessee] was notified by my sister and approximately two (2) weeks later the CEO contacted her thanking her for her feedback. He was very apologetic and mailed her four (4) free meal tickets up to a value of $20.00 each (I believe).
I have re-visited Logan’s Roadhouse in Texas but it has not been on a week-end night and I would not recommend that anyone else does either. The service could have improved now, but I am not risking it.
