Part C: Garment 1: The elements and principles that are evident in my head band are colour and pattern because the head band has bright and different varieties of colour. The pattern in the headband is evident because there is more than one visible pattern in the garment. 2: The characteristics of the fabric is strong, stretchable and durable, doesn’t wrinkle, dries quickly which is all needed in a headband. 3: The Headband first originated from the Greeks and Romans around 475 BC to 330 BC. 4: The headband is on the peak on the fashion cycle because they are in all stores and everyone is wearing them. Part D: Environmental Impact
Made from petrochemicals, this synthetic is non-biodegradable and will not compose. Making polyester uses large amounts of water for cooling, along with lubricants which can become a source of contamination. Polyester is one of the longest lasting fibers and once the garment is done with it can be recycled to almost the same state as before.
Part E: Reflection: At the beginning of the semester I didn’t have any sewing skills but throughout the semester I learned the basics of sewing. I learned things like, threading the sewing machine properly, sewing techniques, knitting, reading patterns and winding a bobbin.
