Another example of Wolverine’s selflessness in Logan is arguably one of the saddest scenes in the movies. Wolverine reunites Laura with her mutant friends in their hideout, but the scientists have found the children, and they brought back up. The scientists are shooting at the children trying to capture them, fortunately because the children are mutants they are able to fight back and defend themselves. Then, the scientists bring out Weapon X-24, a clone of Wolverine from his prime. For Wolverine to save the children from dying at the hands (or claws) of his clone, Wolverine must give it his all; which when you’re slowly dying from adamantium poisoning can be hard.
Logan injects himself with a serum that will temporarily restore him to full strength to allow him to have a fair chance against his clone, to allow the children a chance to get away. The two clawed mutants fight, and as the serum wears off things seem to look grim for Logan. Weapon X-24 impales Logan on a tree branch, right through the chest. It’s hard to say but Wolverine may be the character in the marvel universe who has been a member of the most teams throughout his entire history. If he doesn’t have the most group affiliations under his belt he is probably the runner-up with 43 different teams on his resume; including Alpha Flight, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four, S.H.I.E.L.D., X-Force and the X-Men just to name a few.
