The health and safety at work act was first introduced in the UK in 1974. The legislation places a duty of care on all employers "to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work" to all their employees.
In addition to the health and safety at Work act. There is also the management of health and safety at work regulations act of 1999. This act is the management of health and safety of the employers for their employees. The employers duties are to "assess and manage risks to their employees and others arising from work activities.” This involves making arrangements when needed to ensure the health and safety in the workplace. …show more content…

The current copyright legislation in the UK is the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. In the UK, copyright lasts for the lifetime of the creator plus 70 years after their death. As a copyright owner, the creator has the “reproduction right, distribution right, Rental or lending right, and the right to communicate the work to the public by broadcasting or electronic transmission.”
The Trade Marks Act 1994 is a legislation that protects the trademark from reuse. “In this Act a trade mark means any sign capable of being represented graphically which is capable of distinguishing goods or services of one undertaking from those of other undertakings.” A trademark is a name, word, slogan, design or symbol that identifies a product or organisation. A registered trademarks are identified by the abbreviation ‘TM’
Designs may be subject to both copyright and design rights. A design is the appearance of a product, shape, texture, colour, materials used. To qualify as a new design, the overall impression should be different from any existing design. The creator of the design owns any rights although if the work was commissioned or created during the course of employment the rights belong to the

The four key processes of the model are: (1) the perception of fit, (2) the formation of primary attitudes towards the extension, (3) the link between extension attitude and marketplace behaviour and (4) the reciprocal effect of brand extension attitude on parent brand/extension category attitude. Moderator and control variables of these processes are identified and classified into three groups: (1) consumer characteristics, (2) marketer-controlled factors and (3) external factors. This integrative model leads to the identification of missing links and variables in past research, resulting in a propositional inventory for future studies. The paper ends with a reflection on the long-term perspectives of scientific inquiry on brand extensions. NICHD performed several research studies that shows preterm birth leads to different long term challenges after birth. The researchers explained that infants born 32 weeks of gestation or less are considered preterm, with being born early their brain and other organs are not fully developed as they would be if the infant was born after 32 weeks. NICHD continued to explain that preterm infants, most times, require life-saving medical treatments to survive. These treatments can cause pain and stress that is unwanted for the infant. The pain and stress during these critical development periods can cause problems long term. Some challenges for these infants long term can consist of visual memory, poor planning skills, and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Several studies have been done by The Institute to understand how these stressors affect the brain development and to help find ways to make their first weeks after birth easier.
