...Teenage pregnancy outside of marriage has increased due to two reasons. First , not many teenagers get married like generations before, the sanctity of marriage isn’t quite valued as much United States. It no longer holds as much importance. Secondly, just because they get pregnant, doesn’t mean they must get married. Plenty of couples cohabit without getting married. There are risk factors associated to teenage pregnancy to the mother and child. Our society doesn’t necessarily agree with cohabiting couples. “One reason stress develops in cohabiting couples has been society’s disapproval of these arrangements. Parents may have difficulty acknowledging their child’s partner as a member of the family or responding to the partner.” (1) Knowing that they (the couple) are being judged may cause emotional stress on the couple. One of the risk factors to the baby is that it’s more likely to be born pre-mature or with a lower birth rate, possibly resulting in neurological defects. Many teenage mothers do not receive proper care during their pregnancy. Adolescent mothers aren’t as successful as caring for their babies as an adult mother would be. Also, the babies are more likely to grow up within a delinquent setting as well. Two types of sexual abuse are sexual harassment and rape. ...Money laundering and terrorism financing risks in Botswana introDuction Botswana has a relatively good legal foundation to fight financial crime in general. With the second reading of the Financial Intelligence Bill and the regulation of non-financial institutions prone to money laundering, the legal framework will be remarkably enhanced. However, Botswana has not yet undertaken an assessment of its risks and vulnerabilities to money laundering and the financing of terrorism in terms of international requirements. Significantly, Botswana’s legal framework does not recognise the risk of money laundering in either limited- or high-risk situations. This is in spite of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) espousing a country-specific risk analysis and application of a regulative framework for all forms of business relationships. The rationale for adopting the risk-based approach is that a better understanding of the extent, form, production and disposal or use of the proceeds of crime helps to determine the appropriate interventions. Tentative steps towards establishing trends in money laundering and the financing of terrorism have been taken over the past few years. A team of World Bank experts visited Botswana at the end of 2006 to assess the implementation of the FATF anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism (AML and CFT) standards.
