What type of health system is Longwood?
Per research data gathered by interviewing citizens and healthcare professionals, the healthcare system of Longwood is pluralistic, meaning employers make contributions to the health insurance of the employees, the citizen interviewed indicated that her family is insured by the employers of her husband. This answer however, is far too simplistic hence we are going to examine exactly what type of health system Longwood is, by analyzing how effective the healthcare system is in reaching its goals and carrying out its functions by comparing it to other countries to ascertain whether it is good health system of one which requires a lot of change.
In order to judge the health system of Longwood we need to understand the definition, functions and goals of a …show more content…
Definition: A health system is the sum of all actors, institutions and resources which undertake health actions, where the primary intent is to improve health.
Functions: provide health services, raise money that can be spent on health (resource generation), pay for health services (financing) and regulate the health system (stewardship).
Goals: good health, responsiveness to expectations of the population and fairness of financial contribution.
By comparing these functions and goals of what should be an ideal health system to the health system of Longwood we can immediately point of various faults. We can begin with how adequately the health system of Longwood provide health services and achieve the goal of “good health”. America will be used for comparison because it has a similar health system Longwood

Using a philosophical approach, he explains his perception of normal and abnormal. I could really identify with this portion of the chapter. When I first developed my anxiety my one major goal in fighting it was to go back to my “normal” self. I fought to not feel the symptoms my anxiety every day.
