The stories of our lives are filled with conflicts and resolutions. Our experiences influence us and we make decisions that shape our lives. The life of Louis Zamperini was interjected by an event more difficult than most of us will ever experience. He faced internal and external conflicts and fought for a resolution. This is the story of Louis and his incredible Journey. Louis found a passion when he discovered running. He ran everywhere and seemed to have forgotten how to walk. Louis broke records and became fast enough to compete in the Olympics in Germany. In 1942, Louis joined the army where he joined a bomb unit in the Pacific Ocean. One fateful day, their plane crashed. Louis and his two crewmates were stranded on a lifeboat for forty-seven days.

Unfortunately, his struggle was not over. Louis was plagued by PTSD when he returned home. He suffered from alcoholism and pushed the people in his life away. His wife came close to divorce, but they stayed married. It was a sermon that finally inspired and saved Louis. He began to seek the Lord and found forgiveness through faith. He changed from a bitter alcoholic to a man who was able to pardon his captors. He went on to become an inspirational speaker and wrote two memoirs.
Louis Zamperini survived an experience that changed his entire life. From being stranded in the ocean to be being tortured at a prison camp, Louis endured it all. Each of us can learn many lessons from his story and apply them to the conflicts in our own lives. No matter what Louis never gave up and fought till the end. He made mistakes, but when he sought God he was revived. He faced a multitude of internal and external conflicts, but learned that the only way to move on was acceptance and forgiveness.
