THE MAN WHO LOVED FLOWERS.
This is the title of an essay that takes place in New York one evening in May 1963. It is a third person narrator in the essay that leads readers through what is happening this evening in and around the young man who is "The Man Who Loved Flowers".
Summary: This is a wonderful and beautiful spring evening and it is on the brink of summer. It is in the twilight time and the sky is beautiful violet. People are out on the street in the good weather, and they are all happy. The young man is walking down the street and an old lady who pushes two bags in an old pram, yells at him. "Hey beautiful”. The young man welcomes back, and she thinks that he is in love. She gets happy and nostalgic, while she thinks that all can be beautiful such a spring evening, when they are on their way to the only one. The young man goes over the Sixty-third Street and passes a handcart filled with many fragrant flowers. It is an old man who is selling flowers, and right now he eats a pretzel. He has a radio, where news can be heard, but nobody listens to it. The news is that a hammer killer is on the loose and that an unidentified woman has been fished up from the East River. Otherwise, it is about Vietnam, a jury error in relation to a heroin boss and a Russian nuclear test. The young man hesitates, as he marks with his hand in his jacket pocket. Here he looks surprised, lonely and devastated, but quickly turns back to smile. He returns to the flower wagon, to buy flowers that he may surprise Norma with. Flower vendor is influenced by the young man's smile, and he remembers how it was like to be in love. The Flower vendor and the young man is talking cheerfully about flowers and prices, and the old man gives the young people advice in choosing flowers for the young man's beloved. It ends with two red, two yellow and two white tea roses. They are wrapped. The vendor tells how flowers can last longer, and the young man promises to tell it on. He knows how happy she is for gifts. He must give her a kiss from the florist. Two men with beer belly, who has been standing a little from there, throwing coins are smiling and one is offering to sell his wedding ring cheap, because he no longer wants it himself. It makes the young man to blush and laugh. In the radio the speaker says that the weather could turns into romantic evening where one might look at the stars. The radio plays “Sherry" by the Four Seasons, which invites the beloved to come out and dance in the moonlight, and she makes him crazy, but that she can tell her mother that it's okay. The young man goes back further, he is attentive and eager, but do not record so much that happens around him. What he sees has all to do with families, such as two pregnant women, a mother and a baby, a girl who rhymes about love, marriage and baby carriage. Finally, there are some men who looks at a baseball game on color TV through a shop window. Others noticed the young men, including two pregnant women who look after him, and think that it is long since they have received flowers. A police officer helps him crossing the street, and the officer can see the dreamy expression the young man has. Is the same as when he looks at himself in the mirror, as a new engaged. Two teenage girls giggle as they walk past him but he is untouched.
He turns right into a darker street when he comes to the Seventy-third Street, and he ends up in a narrow lane. The lane is dark, with many garbage cans and screaming male cats. It's quarter over eight and Norma should be there. He sees her dressed in dark blue pants and a sailor blouse and she looks so young. His heart ache every time he sees her the first time. She smiles, but as they get closer his smile faded, and for him, her face blurred. He comes into doubt that he has been wrong, but convinces himself that it is Norma. He gives her the flowers, but she gives them back and says that he is wrong. She tries to tell him her name but he whispers: "Norma". Norma has been dead for ten years. She screams and he takes up the hammer from his jacket pocket and beats her repeatedly. He hits her to beat the scream of death. The flowers are now scattered by the garbage bins.
This he has done five times previously. Now it is completely dark. He put the hammer back in his pocket and goes into the dark streets. He smiles and he knows that his name is "Love". At Seventy-third Street a middle-aged married couple sees him, and she misses her husband coming home with that type of smile. She thinks that there is only one thing that is better than spring, and it is love.

Description and characterization of the protagonist: The young man has a dark hair, cut short He has a not characteristic face with bright color and blue eyes. He wears a gray suit, is casual dress with a shirt that is not buttoned up to his throat and a loose tie. He walks with a bounce in his step, which shows he is targeted to where he's going. The people he meets, he is polite to. He has a smile on his lips and a charisma that makes him seem confident, and everybody can see that he is in love. He exudes so much passion that he affects his surroundings, both young and old. They become happy and associations with their own love affairs and dreams. It's a beautiful spring evening, which is just about to jump out to be summer. Just seems the young man to be just about to jump out of his passion
When the young man passes the flower cart, we get another side of him; He is lonely and he might be a killer. He hears on the radio that a hammer murderer is wanted, and that an unidentified dead woman has been fished out of the East River. He hears the news, while others around him are not aware of it. He hesitates, thinking about and looking over his shoulder, which may indicate a degree of uncertainty in him at that moment. His facial expression also changes, so he seems puzzled, lonely and almost haunted. He feels for something in his pocket and this gets his facial expression to change once again to have the contagious smile and expression, and it is now combined with expectations in him. Flowers cart he returns to is predominantly filled with yellow flowers. Yellow is the color of jealousy, which gives associations to the young man who is jealous. He buys a bouquet of flowers for his beloved Norma, which consists of two red, two white and two yellow tea roses. The red color is the color of love, he loves her. The white color is a symbol of her purity and innocence and the yellow color shows his jealousy. As the man with beer belly offers his wedding ring, the young man comes to blush, which shows his love. When he comes to the darker neighborhood, we observed the darker side of him. He meets a girl whom he sees as Norma, but it is not. Norma has been dead for ten years. Since it is not Norma, and when she gets scared and screams, he beats her to death with what he has in his pocket, namely a hammer. The hammer in the pocket gives him reassurance. He can handle himself when he has the hammer. At the same time, this hammer is also associations with a heart pounding. He bangs for Norma. He has done this five times, so he is a mass murderer, although he does not use a real murder weapon. The hammer comes back into his pocket, and he radiates love, it's his way to live out "love".

...men and women to form stable families to bear and raise children”. This is a good point of view from him, but why does loving someone of the same sex not give the right to raise a family and be just as happy? Some might say its discrimination; some might say it is unfair to humanity. Is it fair to take away the pursuit of happiness because a couple of the same sex wants the same as a couple of the opposite sex? Marriage brings on many new roles for couples like buying and taking care of a home, buying a vehicle, joining bank account, picking medical and life insurance. These rights of marriage are stripped from same-sex couples, not giving the equal right to be with the person they love and care for and what to build a life together with. Love is love, why should it be based on who you are in love with? When looking a same-sex marriage, I wonder if a person is making the choice to be with someone of the same sex, or if it is all they know and...

...Love is beautiful. Love is unconditional. Love is non judgemental. Love is care. Love is acceptance. Love is bliss. Love is pure. Love is serene. Love is calm. Love is silent. Love is not I, me or you. Love is us. Love is not wanting or expecting, Love is giving and accepting. Love is a strength that gives you courage to stand and act in a situation when you don’t even have the capacity to move. Love is a vibration that makes you strong. Love is a signal that binds the souls together. What I feel for my mother is Love. What I feel for my father is Love. What I feel for my sister is Love. What I feel for my brother is Love. What I feel for my grandparents is Love. But I don’t know how to show this Love. I never kissed my brother, or hugged my sister unoccassionaly or thanked my parents unreasonably or gifted my grandparents ever. I just don’t need these gestures to show my unconditional emotion to them. Do I? Dressed in a gorgeous piece came my princess and asked, “How am I looking Di?” And my “Yeah!!” Is enough for her to know that she is looking “Just Perfect”. On the Christmas Eve this year, a bundle of beautifully packed gift lied under my pillow. Holding them in my hands I rushed to my father and said, “Papa!! Santa gave me this”. And he knows that I was thanking MY PAPA SANTA. No matter how much treacherous our fights may be, and the next moment we are together playing Subway Surfers. This is my brother. Do I need to tell him SORRY explicitly? NO. Long days at...

It is a definition and meaning that philosophers, psychologists, and biologists have been seeking since the beginning of time. Wars have been waged and fought over it, while friendships have been initiated and have ended because of this idea. But what exactly is love, and why is it important to define this enigma? In order to help define this idea of love, several...

... 10/14/2013 When I think of the word love it gives me chills because this is a powerful word. Today I am going to talk about the three people in this world that I know and have knowledge that they love me. They are my husband and my two sons. I have had a lot of people to ask me how you know for a fact that your husband loves you. That answer is very clear and simple to me, because its not just one thing he does to show me its many things. When I look at my husband I see a forever with him. We have been married almost nine years now and were just as in love today as we were nine years ago. We still tell each other how much we love each other on a daily basis. We write each other love poems to each other. We love to do everything together. We have our moments when we just look at each other and gaze into each other’s eyes and just smile. Even though we have been so long we still talk about our future together and how we can make it better. He loves to plan things in advance and he loves to reassure me that there is a future for us together. Every year since we have been married he has wanted to renew our vows, because he say that he would remarry me every day if he could. He always gives me compliments on a daily even if I know I look a hot mess he tells me how beautiful I am. He loves to talk and he is very kind and gentle with me. Love

...Nothing can come close to the love that a mother feels for her children. Most women are inherently excellent mothers. Women carry their young before they are born and then continue to nurture them throughout their childhood and even into adulthood. Mothers make sure that their children are safe and happy throughout their childhood. It is the unconditional love that a mother feels that drives these feelings. It is hard to describe the feeling that a mother has towards her children. In fact, most people do not understand unless they become a mother themselves. Raising children comes with its own share of frustrations, from the needy new born baby that requires regular care to the sullen teenager, a mother's job is anything but easy. A famous saying states that "God could not be everywhere and so he invented mothers", these words are a great inspiration to mothers across the world. When all is well, a mother puts her children before anything else, including their own comfort and happiness. Mothers give an awful lot of support to their children, whether it involves very visible support or simple background encouragement. Not only do mothers support their children, but they also often hold the whole family structure together. This role is not always plain sailing. A mother can also be upset or hurt. Remember that a mother often takes the fallout for the toddler tantrums and the teenage angst. Despite this, mothers, generally, will love their children no matter what they do. ...

...Love At First Sight Amber woke up late, spilt coffee on her dress, and was in a rush to make it to work on time. She was frantically running through the automatic doors when all of a sudden she collided into, Chandler, a blue eyed muscular UPS worker. Their eyes locked and she braced herself as he grabbed her arm and steadied her fall. They didn't speak but held a glance for what seemed like minutes, and then they went their separate ways. Amber walked away from that scene, heart-pounding wondering if she would ever see him again because after all it was “love at first sight.” After a first meeting, one may passionately feel as if they fell in love because the attraction is instantaneous, some may describe it as “fireworks” or “electricity” when its simply just sexual attraction. Is this attraction love at first sight? Or is it just a biological and scientific occurrence? Focusing in on the sexual attraction we see that research shows many hormones are involved in this process. Lets start at the brain, “you have motions, you also produce dopamine, a ‘feel good’ neurotransmitter that is associated with passion and addiction, and oxytocin, a hormone related to bonding” (Pincott, 4). With all of these neurotransmitters processing in the brain, it is said that ones pupils may enlarge when focusing on an object of desire (Pincott, 8). Research also shows that a person responds with their entire body when they feel desire. When one is around an object of their desire, adrenaline...

...TO MY FIRST LOVE I can’t say that I loved you from the moment that we met. I can’t say that we were meant to be or that after years of separation we’ll finally break the walls that separate us and be one once more. I can’t say that in the time we’ve been apart I’ve become a better person, better for you….better for us. If I said anything along these lines it would have been a lie. There’s much I want to tell you and a lot that I know I shouldn’t. Let’s start at the beginning: I remember when we met. You were one of the popular people. I was not. Everyday prior to our meeting I was nothing more than a background image on a less-than-boring wall. But for some reason on this day you chose to acknowledge me. On this day you chose to talk to me. I’ll probably never know why, or care why for that matter, but you did and since then my life has never been the same. As if you pulled me into light from the dark, or as though you created something out of nothing I had existence. I had meaning in my life. And that meaning was you. I would wake up every morning just to see you smile. I would miss my bus on purpose just to spend a few extra moments in your presence. I would shed the few nickels and dimes I had to give you whatever happiness money could buy. I would have given you the earth, the moon and even the sun if it so pleased you. I would have done it all. When you’re young everyone tells you to shoot for the stars, but no one tells you how dangerous ambition can be. No one...

...Love From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search For other uses, see Love (disambiguation). Archetypal lovers Romeo and Juliet portrayed by Frank Dicksee Love is an emotion of a strong affection and personal attachment.[1] Love is also a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection —"the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another".[2] Love may describe actions towards others or oneself based on compassion or affection.[3] In English, love refers to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from pleasure ("I loved that meal") to interpersonal attraction ("I love my partner"). "Love" may refer specifically to the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love, to the sexual love of eros, to the emotional closeness of familial love, to the platonic love that defines friendship,[4] or to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love[5], or to a concept of love that encompasses all of those feelings. This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, compared to other emotional states. Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.[6] Love may be understood as part of the survival instinct, a function to keep...
