On November 24, 1974, Lucy was discovered. Lucy is the name given to the 40% discovered skeleton of a hominid that lived about 3 million years ago. Lucy's skeleton included an ape-like skull and bones for habitual bipedalism (a type of transportation/movement used by humans). Other animals do use bipedalism to perform certain tasks but only humans and birds are known to have used it for movement. The discovery of Lucy was perfect evidence for the theory of evolution. This theory answers why life changes and why so much diversity exists. All organisms have developed into their current form by evolving from their ancestors forms. In his most famous work, Summa Theologica, Aquinas gives five proofs of the existence of God through the five senses. In this novel, Aquinas also declared that God made every human being and every soul individually. He argues that God can bring something nonexistent into existence. Aquinas says that God does not simply change one existing thing into another but creates things into …show more content…
Our senses and logic can lead us to believe that there has to be a supreme being to explain our origin in this world. Augustine also shares the belief in the existence of God and uses the bible to understand our existence. Augustine's claim goes along well with the Theory of Evolution because it claims that things were created in one moment and then evolved into other forms. If there were a God he could have created the one organism or species at one specific moment and then let it develop into another species and another one until we have the organisms existing today. There is proof that a God can exist and could have created the world as we know it but there is not enough data that a God has created everything individually. The fact that we can find mutual bones between to organisms that shared an ancestor is enough proof to back up the Theory of
