...D1: evaluate the effectiveness of the use of techniques used in marketing products in one organisation The organisation I have chosen to evaluate the effectiveness on their use of techniques in marketing products is boots. The product I researched on was Rimmel London eyeliner which was from boots. There was a range of marketing techniques they have used. They have advertised the product on television and also the internet (YouTube). When it comes to advertisements Rimmel exaggerated eyeliner got over fifty seven thousand two hundred and fifty eight views. The customer reviews that were received for Rimmel London ‘’exaggerate eye liner’’ was last year in 2012(11 November). They only got six reviews; out of six people four people rated it five stars; one person rated three stars and one person rated it one star. However, from March to October 2013 they have got 101 views mostly giving back positive feedback. Also forty-four people gave a star rating of four point five and five. This has had a major effect over time because before Rimmel London wasn’t that recognised and now the views and ratings have rapidly increased. Furthermore, Boots have used a market relationship technique. For example if you buy the Rimmel London exaggerated eye liner you can now get the second one half the price. Another offer which you can get is when you spend ten pounds or more on any product that belongs to Rimmel London you can retrieve a free gift which is Rimmel London scandalize mascara...

...Unit 27: Understanding Health and Safety in the Business Workplace Unit code: H/502/5458 QCF Level 3: BTEC National Credit value: 10 Guided learning hours: 60 Aim and purpose The aim of this unit is to enable learners to develop knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to health and safety in a business workplace in order to conduct an audit and carry out a risk assessment. Unit introduction It is important, when working in business, to ensure compliance with organisational procedures and legal requirements, as the consequences of non-compliance can have serious implications for employees and employers. It is important, therefore, for learners to appreciate that those working in business must understand the principal issues which affect the working environment, for all individuals and the organisations that employ them. This involves keeping up to date with information on the legal issues that affect safe working practices. Everyone at work plays an important part in ensuring health and safety and it is essential that key personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities. Employers must take reasonable care to protect their employees, and others, from the risk of injury, disease or death, while employees must take care to protect themselves and others. Safe working conditions and the ‘welfare of employees’ can contribute to the success of an organisation. It is important that organisations take steps to prevent accidents...

...Business Level 3 Unit 13 – Recruitment and Selection in Business By: Khalid Jeylani P1 In this assignment I am going to identify how two organisations plan recruitment using internal and external sources. My two organisations are Samsung and Tesco Samsung Samsung is a South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul. It comprises numerous subsidiaries and affiliated businesses, most of them united under the Samsung brand, and are the largest South Korean chaebol (business conglomerate). Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company. Over the next three decades, the group diversified into areas including food processing, textiles, insurance, securities and retail. Samsung entered the electronics industry in the late 1960s and the construction and shipbuilding industries in the mid-1970s; these areas would drive its subsequent growth. Following Lee's death in 1987, Samsung was separated into four business groups – Samsung Group, Shinsegae Group, CJ Group and Hansol Group. Since 1990s, Samsung has increasingly globalized its activities and electronics, particularly mobile phones and semiconductors, have become its most important source of income. Notable Samsung industrial subsidiaries include Samsung Electronics (the world's largest information technology company measured by 2012 revenues, and 4th in market value), Samsung Heavy Industries (the world's 2nd-largest shipbuilder measured by 2010 revenues), and Samsung Engineering...

Carat is a measure of purity in which 24 parts equate (virtually) to 100% gold. 18-carat is therefore 75% gold. Less than 10-carat gold is generally not sold as gold. The carat measure of diamonds is different, for which carat is a measure of weight (1 carat = 200mg). 24-hour Society - Refers to a way of life available to many in the modern world in which people can work socialize, shop, bank, etc., 24 hours a day.
