The literacy focus studying the Level 3 BTEC in Health & Social Care can be divided into three areas – reading, writing and oral communication. Both during formal lessons and independent study there will be opportunities provided to develop each of these three skills as individuals and as a group. Haringey Sixth Form Centre Marking & Feedback policy will provide further opportunity for independent concentration on literacy
Assignments provide the following examples of literary focus:
Writing - Producing written reports, booklets, and letters. Composing PowerPoint slides
Reading –Skimming source material. Scanning own submission. Reading PowerPoint slides.
Speaking – Delivering an individual PowerPoint presentation. Taking part in group discussion and answering questions. One-to-One/Group Role-Play
