...Written Report MACRO COMPUTER SCIENCE What is a Macro Computer? A macro (short for "macroinstruction", from Greek μακρο- 'long') in computer science is a rule or pattern that specifies how a certain input sequence (often a sequence of characters) should be mapped to a replacement output sequence (also often a sequence of characters) according to a defined procedure. The mappings process that instantiates (transforms) a macro use into a specific sequence is known as macro expansion. A facility for writing macros may be provided as part of a software application or as a part of a programming language. In the former case, macros are used to make tasks using the application less repetitive. In the latter case, they are a tool that allows a programmer to enable code reuse or even to design domain-specific languages. Macros are used to make a sequence of computing instructions available to the programmer as a single program statement, making the programming task less tedious and less error-prone. (Thus, they are called "macros" because a big block of code can be expanded from a small sequence of characters). Macros often allow positional or keyword parameters that dictate what the conditional assembler program generates and have been used to create entire programs or program suites according to such variables as operating system, platform or other factors. The term derives from "macro instruction", and such expansions were originally used in generating assembly language code...

...Macro Systems Paper There are a lot of different areas that affect us as individuals, communities, and as families. There are expectations on how people believe things should be. As a human service professional it is important to understand the different areas of social systems and what roles we as professionals and the other things that will play a part in these areas. Throughout this paper we will discuss personal, interpersonal, and political empowerment, macro systems, individual involvement with the different social systems, and poverty. According to Lippincott and Wilkins, Inc. (2007), “The term empowerment has different meanings in different sociocultural and political contexts. Broadly speaking, empowerment refers to the expansion of assets and capabilities of poor people to participate in, negotiate with, influence, control, and hold accountable institutions that affect people’s lives.” (p. 120). With there being so many different definition’s and understandings of empowerment, we are only going to review three areas, personal, interpersonal, and political empowerment. Personal empowerment is something we all have experienced at a few different times in our lives. This is when an individual decides to make a positive improvement in their lives or within their community or neighborhood. They stand up for what they believe is right and worth fixing or fighting for, maybe not just for themselves, but for others. At an intimate level we may decide to change how...

...ECO/372 Principles of Macroeconomics Individual: Fundamentals of Macroeconomics Paper Part 1 Gross Domestic Product (GDP): Market value of all goods that are produced in a given time period. Real GDP: The measurement of GDP at constant prices. Nominal GDP: The measurement of GDP at current prices. Unemployment Rate: The measurement of knowing how many people are unemployed in the country versus employed people. Inflation Rate: The measurement of increase in prices over a period of time. Interest Rate: The dollar amount that is paid yearly on a loan by the borrower. Part 2 The three activities affect each entity different, looking at how purchasing groceries would affect the government only if there was some sort of inflation going on. Then the government would raise taxes on goods in which will raise the prices of goods. As for households it can affect them in a negative way or a positive way. If we look at buying groceries in today’s economy it rather difficult because the price of goods are going up, but wages are staying the same. So, when it comes to a household of maybe 6 or 7 it would difficult to feed them because the take home pay is so low. The business aspect of buying groceries, the business will always succeed because people need and have to eat. So, if the economy is bad the grocery industry will not see a decline because people have to eat. Even when wages are low and the prices of goods are high people still have to buy groceries to survive. Massive...

...Fundamentals of Macroeconomics Jillian Sandbothe ECO/372 April 28, 2014 Dr. Robert Larkin Fundamentals of Macroeconomics Part 1 In the fundamentals of macroeconomics there are some basic vocabulary terms that everyone should know. These terms help to break down certain dynamics of basic economic factors. A list is provided of some of these basic terms and their meanings. * Gross domestic product (GDP): This is the value set upon a good or service, per the current market, within a one calendar year timeframe. * Real GDP: This is the value set upon goods or services per one calendar year that is adjusted for growth changes such as inflation. * Nominal GDP: This is the value set upon goods or services that is not adjusted. * Unemployment rate: This is the percentage of the population that is able to work but whom are not currently working. * Inflation rate: This is the rate at which the price levels increase. * Interest rate: This is what will be paid to borrow money and is based upon inflation. Part 2 The economy is not just a whole bunch of entities that are attached together but intertwined and dependent upon one another. When one small part of the economy shifts the rest is altered. An example of how this flow of events works would be when a large organization goes under there are massive employee layoffs. When this happens consumers decrease their purchases, such as groceries. When consumers...

...It is hard to imagine that the sustained economic prosperity of the Roaring Twenties was soon followed by a severe worldwide economic depression. In 1929, the Great Depression began in the United States. By the time the economy hit rock bottom in 1933, real GDP plunged nearly 30%. Real per capita disposable income sank nearly 40%. More than 12 million people were thrown out of work; the unemployment rate soared from 3% in 1929 to 25% in 1933. Some 85,000 businesses failed. Hundreds of thousands of families lost their homes (Wheelock 2008). The money supply had fallen 35%, prices plummeted by about 33%, and more than one-third of banks in the United States were either closed or taken over by other banks (Parker 2010) . Milton Friedman and Anna Schwartz, in their 1963 book A Monetary History of the United States, 1867–1960, call this massive drop in the supply of money “The Great Contraction.” Monetarists, including Friedman, argue that the Great Depression was mainly caused by this monetary contraction, poor policy-making by the American Federal System, and continued crisis in the banking system. While there are many credited theories that provide an explanation for the Depression, this essay will focus on Monetarism and John Maynard Keynes’s argument for government stimulus in order to combat the economic downturn. Causes For The Great Depression In their book A Monetary History of the United States, 1867–1960, Friedman and Anna Schwartz stated that the Depression began with...

...Macroeconomics is the study of the economy as a whole which includes inflation, unemployment, business cycles, and growth. It is very important to understand certain terms and how they affect the economy. This paper will also attempt to explain various economic activities and how they relate to the government, households, and businesses. One must also understand the flow of resources from one entity to another for each of the activities. There are certain key terms one must know in order to have a better understanding of the fundamentals of macroeconomics. These terms include gross domestic product (GDP), real GDP, nominal GDP, unemployment rate, inflation rate, and interest rate. GDP is a way to gauge the health of a country’s economy. GDP represents the entire dollar value of all goods and services produced over a certain time frame. There are two basic ways to compute GDP, the income approach and the expenditure approach. The income approach basically means adding up what everyone earned in a year. The expenditure approach involves adding up what everyone spent. Real GDP is often referred to as “constant price”, “inflation-corrected” GDP or “constant dollar GDP”. This basically means it is the nation’s total output of goods and services, adjusted for price changes. Nominal GDP is the market value of all final goods and services produced to include inflation. The unemployment rate is a percentage of the total labor force that is unemployed but is actively seeking employment...

...writing. In fact, the three universities that I have attended in the past have all required me to use the APA style of writing. As I recall my high school years, the APA style of writing also seemed to be a favorite amongst my high school teachers. They all required that term papers be written in APA style as well. This type of writing actually does not differ much from the ones included in the text reading. The text mentioned the APA style of writing several times. In my opinion, it appears to be the most popular style of writing, especially amongst college students. Based on the results of the quizzes, my grammar skills were actually a little better than average. I actually had expected to do better, but I guess my grammar skills are not as good as I thought they were. In any event I feel very confident when it comes to spelling, as I have always been a great speller. Even in grade school, I was a good speller. I learned at a very young age to challenge myself when it comes to spelling. Challenging my-self in that area really paid off as I became older, as I’ve never had a problem with spelling. However, I feel that I need more help with run on sentences and with thought patterns. Though I proof read my paper several times, it’s hard for me to see that I have several run on sentences until after I get my grade back. In general, I feel that my writing is just mediocre. However, I also believe that when it comes to writing, I am my own worst critic. Reason being, I am never...

...How to Write a Good Academic Paper? That is a question which most students ask and most of them are new to academic writing. Any good academic writer’s quality is his/her mind is loaded with creative set of ideas that help him navigate through the whole topic of academic paper. Ideas lead you to somewhere and only a few good students are gifted by nature and if you are not then you can also build up a good rhythm of academic writing. Secondly, you should also have a good sense of your audience; you should know what element of your academic writing would entice them and also create some space for your write-up for reading in their schedule. You then research for resources and data that would be of great use to enlighten your readers. Knowing what you audience wants, should be in your priority because readers enjoy what they seek in your writing.
