My major stressor in life is not knowing what to expect of a situation or event. A prime example of this is whenever I am driving to somewhere, whether that be 25 minutes to UCO or just 5 minutes to my grandma’s house. I am always nervous of getting into any kind of car accident, even if it is just a minor one. Everytime that I drive, I always make sure to be aware of my surrounding and steer away from big trucks. If a friend offers to carpool me, they have to be at least a perfect driver like me dad.

The importance of understanding the factors that lead to job stress is vital, due to the fact that this phenomenon is a universal business issue, as well as a serious health threat. Therefore we will examine the impact of gender and emotional intelligence on job stress by distributing questioners to over 200 participants randomly to see if there is a connection that could help us make assumptions and better understand how to solve this issue. Introduction Job stress and its associated problems cost organizations an estimated $300 billion each year in decreased productivity, absenteeism, turnover, worker conflict, higher health care costs, and increased worker’s compensation claims; as well as 34% of the US workforce reported high level of stress (Cordas, 2008). For that reason it’s important for businesses to understand the major aspects that lead to job stress due to the fact that it plays an important factor in our daily lives and is a universally experienced business problem. Therefore this paper will be focusing on job stress and trying to expose if gender and emotional intelligence has any affect, by implementing specific statistical tests to prove it. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

...The topic I have chosen for my research paper is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as PTSD, is an anxiety disorder that develops in a person after an extremely traumatic event. These traumatic events can range from being in a war or in a crime to even an accident. In 1980 the American Psychological Association (APA) added PTSD to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder, which was also known as DSM-III. PTSD has had many different names over the years; in 1905 the Russians called it “Battle Shock”, during WWI it was called “shell shock”, Freud called it “war neurosis”, then during WWII the term changed to “combat exhaustion”, and in 1952 DSM-I called it “Gross stress reaction”,...

The author in this column describes this work in two formats. Essential details of two areas of research are presented in episodic form—the first is work on secondary analysis of Roy model-based research over 40 years and the author’s study of persons’ cognitive recovery from mild head injury. The second is a project on re-conceptualizing coping and adaptation processing in sequential detail within the context of work in the field and the significance of on-going work for nursing practice. Keywords adaptation, coping, middle-range theory, research, Roy adaptation model The story of research based on the Roy adaptation model (RAM) can be told in many ways. Deshmukh Prof.& Head, Bapurao Deshmukh College of Engineering, Sevagram, Wardha, India Ram.R.Wayzode Lecturer, Suryodaya College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur, India Prof. N. G. Alvi Prof,Suryodaya College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur,India ABSTRACT In this study a dynamic simulation was conducted on a crankshaft from a single cylinder four stroke engine. Finite element analysis was performed to obtain the variation of stress magnitude at critical locations. The pressure-volume diagram was used to calculate the load boundary condition in dynamic simulation model, and other simulation inputs were taken from the engine specification chart. The dynamic analysis was done analytically and was verified by simulation in ADAMS which resulted in the load spectrum applied to crank pin bearing. This load was applied to the FE model in ABAQUS, and boundary conditions were applied according to the engine mounting conditions. The analysis was done for different engine speeds and as a result critical engine speed and critical region on the crankshaft were obtained. Stress variation over the engine cycle and the effect of torsional load in the analysis were investigated. Results from FE analysis were verified by strain gages attached to several locations on the crankshaft. Results achieved...

...Reduction of Workplace Stress by Promoting Interventions for Positive Professional Relationships Aminata Kamarah-Payne Tuesday, April 26, 2011 NPO 5080-01 Final Paper Dr. Christine Cugliari Introduction: The experience of workplace stress has been subject to a huge amount of research and interest. In American culture, it seems that stress is a regular part of everyday life. Emphasis is often put on getting many things done as quickly and efficiently as possible, even at the sacrifice of physical and emotional health. With the continuous introduction of new technology comes the expectation that projects should be completed even more quickly and more efficiently, and it seems that stress levels may only continue to increase, especially in the workplace. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) (1999, p.5), “Three-fourths of employees believe the worker has more on the job stress than generations ago.” Without taking note of stress levels and properly reducing unhealthy stress, America will continue to see a rise in related mental and physical illness. Perhaps it will become even more crucial to study stress, particularly in the workplace, and to identify proper interventions. This prospective is no different in the nonprofit sector. Nonprofit organizations play an important role in such diverse areas as arts and culture, sports and recreation, literacy and skills development programs, health services, religious activity, and...
