Hotel Rwanda describes the rivalry between two ethnic groups, the Hutus and the Tutsis. Both groups shared the same language, culture, territory, customs and beliefs but had different physical features and belonged to different ‘classes’. On the 6th of April 1994, the Presidents of Rwanda and Burundi were killed when their plane was shelled by rocket fire as it attempted to land at the airport in Kingali, Rwanda. The assassination of the Hutu president was attributed to the Tutsis just as a pretext to begin violence since it is believed his own people, the Hutus, murdered him. Then the genocide begins.

The film focuses on the story of Paul Rusesabagina (Don Cheadle), a Hutu hotel manager at the Mille Collines, a Belgian-owned luxury hotel. We also learn early in the film that his wife and her family is Tutsi. Along with checking in guests, Rusesabagina must use his wise business sense to buy supplies from a rebellious Hutu who strives to get him involved in taking a stand against the Tutsis. As chaos ensues, United Nations forces, previously stationed to help, leave the Rwandans with nothing but their own will. Tutsi refugees turn to the Hutu Rusesabagina for help. Paul becomes the hero of the film saving over 1,000 refugees from death by harboring them in the hotel that he manages.

Hotel Rwanda is a film made to show the world the violence and cruel things that were going on in South America. Nearly 1 million people were killed in less than 3 months. Paul Russesabegina (Don Chedle) was an amazing actor in the movie. He made a point. He was a true actor. He showed the viewers that he loved his people and wasn't going to let neither himself nor

...had to stop. My breath became short, my heart pounded and my legs gave way. A shower of bombs hit the side of my house. The force of the blast threw me to the ground! There are streets being bombed right this minute; I’m scared. Mama and Papa told me that everything is going to be ok, but I’m still scared. They said that I have to be evacuated out of London soon; I have to go somewhere far away. I will miss them dearly and I’m sure they will miss me too. I’m only 13 but my mama can’t come with me, she said that Churchill our prime minister made up the rules. I have mixed thoughts about being evacuated; I am worried about the type of people I am going to stay with and whether they will care for me or not, however, I love the countryside as it is very peaceful and quiet unlike the streets of London!! I’m going to bed now, speak soon. Mary. Dear diary, November 1, 1940 From late last night until early this morning, I witnessed some indescribable events. Armed soldiers and police paraded the streets looking for Jews. Jews were taken from their houses and other peoples attics where they hid. All I could hear throughout the night were gunshots. Between 200-300 Jews have been killed already. If they weren’t killed, they were taken away as prisoners. Mama told me that they were being taken to concentration camps where they would work themselves to death. It was definitely not tranquil! The sky is always filled with thick black smoke and there is a stench of dead rotting bodies. I...

A Raisin in the Sun

...Entry 1: Dear Diary, I am just now leaving The United States of America and on the plane right now as I’m writing this. Mama, Walter, Ruth, and Travis all dropped me off at the airport to say goodbye. It was really hard because I know I will not see them for a while, but they know what’s best for me. I know Mama wanted me to be with George, but he truly just wasn’t for me. He wanted me to be someone who I was not. He tried to push me away from who I am. I am Beneatha and proud of myself and family and since he couldn’t respect that I had to let him go. I hope Mama will understand why I did such a thing. She will never know how much I love her. As I am looking out of this window at the little specks of houses diapering I am thinking about what my future holds. I wonder if I have made the right decision, but I can only hope so. Joseph has changed my view of life. He has changed me for the better. I have always wanted to help others after I had watched the little boy in my neighborhood cut his head open. I know I am not the greatest follower of god, but I think this might be his plan for me. To look after the sick and diseased. I am delighted I have met Asagai. It’s almost like he is my other half because when I am with him I feel so alive and free. He makes me feel wanted and loved. He may not be the rich like George, but I love him just as much, if not more. Looking out into the clouds I see a happy future. Saving lives, curing patients, and caring for all who have been hurt...

...California Space Heaters, Inc. November 30, 2010 There is a fine line between how much safety a corporation should provide to the consumer regarding its products vs. how much responsibility of safety should fall on the average consumer. Take, for instance, the all too familiar McDonald’s coffee episode. Does McDonald’s have a responsibility to its customers to ensure the coffee isn’t hot enough to scald if spilled upon one’s lap? Or should the customer be held responsible for their own safety in regards to common sense judgment? This is what California Space Heaters, Inc. (CSH) must consider when deciding exactly which products to launch. Kerosene heaters are often times used in shops and garages as well as inside homes. They are quite a bit heavier than standard electric space heaters, which tip over easily. Because of their weight (and low center of gravity with fuel), kerosene heaters are typically very sturdy. Tipping over a kerosene heater takes some doing. Additionally, because there is fuel involved, people are probably more cautious than they might be with an electric heater. Users have the responsibility to use extreme caution when operating any fuel-based component, especially any type of heating device. Due to the stability of these types of heaters, a corporation should not be held liable for recklessness that results in a kerosene heater tip-over. Using these arguments, I would recommend that CSH does not incorporate an automatic cut-off when tipped...

There are many types when it comes to history there is cultural history, military history, history of religion and much more. Historians write in the context of their own time, and with due regard to the current dominant ideas of how to interpret the past, and sometimes write to provide lessons for their own society, and till this day historians discover new things of the past human life. The historians specify their studies depending on geographical location and time period. People must have a background about history to know who they are and where they come from without history it's like a person with no identity. It is very important for people to learn history because people can feel connected, and learns from the past, and information will help with daily life and careers.
