Verizon Wireless is dedicated to providing our customers with the best service, the latest technology, and the coolest new phones available. Planning plays a key role in this success. The future of our company is a very bright one, so long as we keep heading in the direction we are going. In order to do this, we must plan for changes in technology, and implement new ideas, updates, products to keep our company ahead of the curve and up-to-date on new trends.
Situational analysis, step one, involves analyzing our current situation as well as past trends, helping us to decide what to do to improve our future business. For instance, in the ever-changing world, people are looking for speed, optimal service and products, and convenience.
The next step in the planning process is to develop and analyze possible goals and plans, such as coming out with a new, advanced phone. When analyzing our goals we need to keep the SMART process in mind. This involves five different points to think about when analyzing our options. First is specific; goals that are precise, with particular favorable outcomes. M, or measurable, means the goal should “quantify the desired results”. This way, there is not a doubt as to whether the goal has been attained. Attainable, yet still challenging, goals should be set, giving employees the confidence to believe that they can make it happen, yet still challenge them to be creative and work hard to do so. R is relevant; goals considered should have an impact on the company’s overall operation, while still sticking to its core values. Lastly, T, is for time-bound. A good plan or goal should specify a set date of completion. It is always good to have a schedule in place, so as to stay on point and not vary from the task at hand.
