A New Tourism Attraction Theme park concept is form around all inclusive resort expireince looking to meet and fulfill all age’s needs for thrill expireince. This paper aims to bring an innovated theme park concept into the Shanghai, China community. By taking into account the local culture and top ten attractions the theme park will use technology to enhance these attractions and put then within walking distance of each other. While theme park has positive aspect to the community they also can come with some negative influence than needs to take into consideration before the final decision is made. China have tourism is growing in popularity. However its ten top attractions are spread around the whole country making expensive for tourist to capture everything in one trip. Been able to use technology to its full potential creating a theme park that has virtual expireince, simulators, exotic rollercoaster, unique architecture, water rides, and kids favorite character interaction is a lifetime expireince that will leave people wanting to come back. The Best of China Theme Park will build highlighting the local culture and food while at the same time experiencing the ten most seen attractions in China; The Great Wall, The Forbidden City, The Terracotta Warriors, Guilin's stunning mountain scenery, The Yangtze River Cruise, The Mogao Grottos of Dunhuang, Jiuzhaigou, Yellow Mountain (Huangshan), and The Classical Gardens of Suzhou (Zhiyong, 2013). Medina Incorporated has decided to open a theme park in Shanghai, China because of the following reasons: • Shanghai is one of the fast growing cities with a lot of opportunities of trade, commerce and tourism. • Establishing a theme park in Shanghai will mark a very significant milestone for Medina Incorporated in mainland China. • They want to increase the number of theme parks and increase their sales as China has the biggest population in the world: so Medina Incorporated can capture huge profit by establishing a theme park in Shanghai. • They want to acquire more resources by expanding their theme parks in China as they will create their own channels for the Chinese people in Chinese language. • China’s one child per family policy increased family disposable incomes and made parents unwilling to refuse to fulfill wishes of their child, such as a visit to a theme park. • They also want to minimize their risk associated with the already set up theme parks in United States. This means if by chance the company loses profits in United sates , but still can gain profits from other theme parks situated in other countries • They realized the importance of globalization (Barboza, 2011).
Types of Organizations in the Distribution Process China usually has very frustrating market for US entertainment companies. To catch the distribution media channels, Medina Incorporated have to enter into partnership with government controlled entity. This partnership gives Medina Incorporated an easy access to negotiate a 24-hour cable network in China or to win wider distribution for its films. Now, as the traditional media is restricted on giving airtime to Medina Incorporated, so the company invented an innovative way to distribute the theme park, it decided to enter into a partnership with China's two dominant online video sites that shows it videos. Then to reach its core audience it opened few facilities in schools where children are taught about different cartoon characters (Barnes, 2009).
Factors Contributed Towards the Success of the Theme Park There are some factors in the external environment that have contributed to Disney’s success, failure, and adjustments in Shanghai theme park operations. These external factors are: • They focus on different kinds of religion and intellectual strategy of that particular region. • They involve government in their project • They also involve some local investors in the project of designing thee park • Their planning was excellent • They have made an extraordinary design • They hired some local manufacturing and training services. • They provide excellent consultation services • They match excellently with the Shanghais culture. • They have come up with different innovative ideas and products that give them huge success (MacDonald, 2011).
Utilization of the existing transportation The Best of China Theme Park will see that the place where there are locating there park would be profitable or not. For which they have to look for the area that is closer to the populated area and where the mass transportation facility is available otherwise in the absence of transportation facility, nobody will commute to this theme park, and it will turn into a loss making project. As the company has a budget of $5 million to design and build theme park but it will be huge waste if it does not have proper transportation channels to reach the theme park. Therefore, The Best of China Theme Park management can create its own transpiration facilities for local community and tourist to reach the place conveniently. A city like Shanghai has excellent transportation network to reach different places, therefore, with excellent transportation it won’t be difficult for local community to reach this tourist attraction. More and more visit to the theme park will give more profits to the theme park. Shanghai gives around 300 million potential customers who live within two hours of the site, located between the city’s airport and downtown (Pierson, 2011).
Negative Impacts of Creating Theme Park The Best of China Theme Park creation might create some negative aspects like: • Affect cultural factors: The theme park might suffer losses due to the cultural influences as when Chinese came to know that this company is an American company they might not accept the theme park on cultural basis and this will lead to the bankruptcy of the theme park. • Negatively affects political and legal situations: Sometimes opening of such theme parks in other countries might affect political and legal situations. • It fails to adjust with countries social norms. • It failed because visit in The Best of China Theme Park is not affordable for all. It will become the "land of happiness" for children in rich families and the "land of grievance" for children in poor families, thus unfavourable for social harmony.
Theme Park Adding Value to The community There are many people who believe that opening of this theme park will not only boost tourism, service and estate industries, but also provide job opportunities. The prospects that theme park has the ability to build ten thousand jobs adds the value to the community. Theme park management is working hard to inculcate Chinese stories and history into the theme part to make its more valuable for the Chinese people. Medina Incorporates has taken a local partner in designing the theme park in Shanghai so that theme park designing can incorporate local customs.
Conclusion
Medina Incorporated has a bright idea of a building The Best of China theme park in Shanghai, China. Using technology combine virtual expireince, simulators, exotic rollercoaster, unique architecture, water rides, and kids favorite character interaction to enhance the best of China’ attraction can create ones in a lifetime expireince take tourist attention from around the world. Without a doubt this theme park provide a unique concept that can be use to create similar theme parks in different country that will keep the company busy and profitable for years to come.
