The stated goals are the goals that identified within the company in the areas where change is needed. The goals have already been outlined and communicated through all of the proper chains. In the government acquisitions field the goal is to streamline medical purchases and ultimately save government dollars in this process. These goals are stated and they have not been fully achieved although the implementation process for these goals in in place.
The current change status is where the changes are starting to take place and you are moving forward to achieve the goals that have been outlined. In this phase you will identify the accomplishments and milestones that have been achieved. In this phase as with any other phases in the change process communication is extremely important to success. It is important to communicate the processes that are running smoothly as well as those that are not quite working out as set forth in the original plan. This is a time where you can evaluate the processes that are not working and make necessary changes.
Gap analysis is "a technique for determining the steps to be taken in moving from a current state to a desired future-state" (Businessdictionary.com). The gap is the space between the present state (where we are) and the target state (where we want to be). Analyzing the space between each of these will help accomplish set goals you have for your business or personal goals.
There is always room for improvement within a business. The first step is to identify what the performance gaps are and if you want to improve them. A gap analysis will be implemented to establish the amount of changes that need to need occur. Establishing the current gap issues will allow you to monitor improvements closely and enhancing your business. You will need first to pick an area of performance that you want to measure. If you want to measure sales performance you might use the sales dollars to measure the performance. If you want to measure customer satisfaction you would probably use a customer survey to measure the level of performance. Now that you have your performance level evaluated you will need to set a goal that you would want your performance level to reach. This is the goal that you want to reach once all the final changes have been made. Once you have set your goal, now you need to measure the gap between where you are at currently and your desired goal. Whatever form you are measuring make sure it is the same type. For example, if you currently have 100 customers and the goal are to increase to 300 customers. You would simply subtract 100 and 300 to find out what how many customers you need to gain to reach your target goal. In this case, it is 200 new customers. This method works with just about everything you want to find out what you need to gain to reach your goal. "Create a plan to close the gap methodically, and regularly measure your progress. By performing the gap analysis repeatedly, over time you will be able to see if the gap is closing, widening, or remaining the same. You can use graphs to help analyze the gaps; this will help give a visual way of tracking progress over time toward your goal"(www.smallbusiness.chron.com). For the government medical buying, higher spending facilities are being used instead of more local cost effective facilities. The performance goal is to transfer all outsourcing contracts to smaller local facilities and more cost effective contracts.

Following the gap analysis plan can help turn your analysis results into an action plan. This plan will help your establish the parts that need to be moved such as the risk-vulnerable to risk-managed.

• Identify compliance method and resource needs
• Assign "gap closure" task and follow-up
Information systems are "an integrated set of components for collecting, storing, and processing data and for delivering information, knowledge, and digital products" (www.britannica.com). Business relies on information systems to help software and online services. Social networking is one way that information systems are delivered. The main parts of information systems are computer hardware and software, telecommunications, databases, and data warehouses, human resources and procedures. Understanding each component of information systems will help analyze the gap analysis. Gap analysis for information systems is typically used by project managers and process improvement teams.

Overall, if the government medical buying would implement changes using the gap analysis for the above systems and procedures, they will see making certain changings will improve the overall organization.
