8. Slutsats - är företaget under- eller övervärderat idag? Bra redogörelse till er värdering utav företaget. Ett bra skrivet arbete!

Controlling

...Topic 4.Controlling Topic 1: What is Control and Why Engage in It? Introduction Many people think of the word “control” in the context of manipulating someone or something. They think of control as getting someone to do something that WE want them to do, and it follows that they may NOT want to do it! In management, control has a different meaning. It is simply an information system that provides valuable feedback. In your textbook, control is defined as “the process of monitoring activities to ensure that they are being accomplished as planned and correcting any significant deviations” (Robbins et al., page 308). In other words, you measure the results you are getting and compare this with your objectives and then make any necessary adjustments. Managers who control the finances of an organization are often referred to as “controllers.” These managers use financial control measures on a daily basis. Project managers also use control mechanisms to monitor their projects. Control measures are determined at the beginning of a project and used throughout the life of a project to monitor time, budget, and project scope. The control measures give the project team valuable feedback on how they are doing. Just as feedback is a critical component in good communication, feedback is also a key factor in developing management controls. Measurement controls can be set up in virtually any area of an organization. One area that most people have experience with is the annual performance...

Adaptive Traffic Control System

...Adaptive Traffic Control System Performance measure against which our proposed policy to be tested is green time utilization. This performance measure is estimated by measuring the green time during which vehicles are served for an instance of a given phase and then dividing by the total length of the green time instance (i.e. minimum and maximum green time) The supporting data for green time utilization are as follows: * Allocated minimum and maximum green time * vehicle departure times * Saturation headway These data can be retrieved from the Signal control data and stop line detector. Our objective is to maintain ideal state as long as possible if control system deviates from this ideal state to (over-utilization) or (under-utilization) then by using adaptive control strategy system will take actions by changing existing policy. Objective: max.8≤Ugfk<1 Subject to constraints: g minfk≤gfk≤g maxfk (1) f=AFgfk≤C (2) Here, Ugf= Average time taken by vehiclesAvailable time Ugf=number of departures in phase f× hsat{gmin, gmax} Ugminf= number of departures in phase f× hsat{gmin}, Ugmaxf= number of departures in phase f× hsat{gmax} So, theoretically the green time utilization should follow following condition to be remain in ideal...

Internal Control

...President of any new internal control requirements if the company decides to go public. (7 points) Instituting a system of internal checks and balances would be foremost in my recommendations to the company president since most internal control systems provide for independent internal verification; this principle involves the review of data prepared by employees. To obtain maximum benefit from independent internal verification: * Companies should verify records periodically or on a surprise basis. * An employee who is independent of the personnel responsible for the information should make the verification. The company should also look at incorporating a Voucher Control System. Most medium and large companies use vouchers as part of their internal control over cash disbursements. A voucher system is a network of approvals by authorized individuals, acting independently, to ensure that all disbursements by check are proper. When looking to hire new employees, it is vital that the company utilize the extensive resources on the web in providing for complete background investigations. A lot of wasted time and energy could be recouped using effective human resource controls. Effective web access controls could likewise prevent embarrassing behavior and lost company time on the part of current employees (i.e. downloading porn, idle surfing/shopping, etc.). More oversight of the petty cash fund would also certainly be in order. “Internal control over a petty cash fund is...

Homework Airtex

...KTH Homework assignment ME2028 Behavioral Management Control Andreas Torbiörnsson 09 How could each of the control problems at Leo´s Four-Plex Theater be solved with the use of Cultural control? Cultural control is a type of control that encourages mutual monitoring1 and it builds a lot upon group pressure. The main idea of cultural control is to get the employees to watch over each other and to create a culture that has certain things that you specifically do or don’t do. It aims to set up shared beliefs and norms in that company, rules of behaving that everyone abides by. The case of Leo’s Four-Plex Theater has a number of control problems that I can identify. They are as follows:   Discrepancies in the cash counts of the ticket booths. Most likely caused by a lack of motivation that leads to employee theft and neglecting of duties. The employees working in the refreshment stand sometimes do not collect cash from customers or doesn’t register the sale on the cash register. This is also most likely caused by a lack of motivation, it can’t be lack of direction since they know what they should do and neither could it be a personal limitation since they know how to operate the machine and how to collect payment. The problem seems to be that they don’t know why they should collect the cash. Test counts reveal that the number of tickets sold or put into the stub box isn’t equal to the amount of customers entering and leaving the theater. This seemed to be caused by three...

Inter-Firm Coordination as an Information Problem.

...ABSTRACT The extant literature on inter-organizational control distinguishes the main control problems as coordination problems and appropriation concerns. The present study focuses on coordination problems and is intended to understand the process leading to the hybrid nature of inter-firm coordination modes and the role of information in this process. In a theoretical part, after discussing the main critical assumptions underlying coordination studies, an integrative framework is proposed to conceptualize the coordination process and describe the role of information in this process. In Particular, the framework assumes inter-firm settings as a-centered and a-static, whence the relevance of an interpretive approach where coordination is viewed as a process characterized by dialectic interactions between coordinating actors. The empirical part of the study is aimed at verifying the explanatory power of the framework studying a case of outsourcing relations in a divisionalized company operating in the semi-conductor industry. The case provided useful data giving new insights that enrich the framework. Keywords: coordination; information; system;: process; inter-organizational relations. Revised version July, 5 2011 1. Introduction Inter-organizational relations have become a widespread and problematic phenomenon which, from the management control perspective, has required the design and implementation of control systems at a distance (Mouritsen et al, 2001). Coordination is...

The recommendations to this problems is the documents such as invoices, purchase order, delivery order and many more should be properly pre-numbered so that it is easy to trace if there were missing documents. Research

...Introduction Here is a project using the printer port of a PC, for control application using software and some interface hardware. The interface circuit along with the given software can be used with the printer port of any PC for controlling up to eight equipments. The interface circuit is drawn for only two device, being controlled by D0 and D1 bit at pin 2 and pin 3 of the 25-pin parallel port. Identical circuits for the remaining data bits D2 through D7 (available at pins 4 through 9) have to be similarly wired. The use of opto-coupler ensures complete isolation of the PC from the relay driver circuitry. Lots of ways to control the hardware can be implemented using software. In C/C++ one can use the out port b (portno, value) function where portno is the parallel port address (usually 378hexfor LPT1) and 'value' is the data that is to be sent to the port. For a value=0 all the outputs (D0-D7) are off. For value=1 D0 is ON, value=2 D1 is ON, value=4, D2 is ON and so on. e.g. If  value=29(decimal) = 00011101(binary) ->D0, D2, D3, D4 are ON and the rest are OFF. II. Background of the Study In the fast growing world today, it is necessary to control the home from remote locations. Every home is different, and just like you have to instruct your maid in the operation of your home, you have to instruct your PC in your personal preferences. A home automation system is a means that allow users to control electric appliances of varying kind. Home automation is also known...

Control Systems

...Contol Systems/Robotics Research Paper Home Heating System March 10, 2014 I. Introduction In our present world, the advancement of technologies is rapid. Technologies today are so important that it is now part of humanity. It is the desire of man to be more efficient that made technologies bloom as it is now. Many applications of technologies became wider as people grow much more intellectual by countless experimentation throughout the history of humanity. One of the said applications of technology can be seen in our very home, especially in controlling the temperature inside. This application can be seen in homes where temperatures can drop below 16 degrees Celsius. Homes that are located in tropical regions mostly do not have this application because temperatures are 16 degrees Celsius higher. Homes today are more sophisticated, with its advanced technology systems like security, automation, etc. that were not being integrated in homes for the past years. We may see that in the distant past, things like cooking, cleaning and etc. will all be done by technology and with little intervention by humans. A heating system is a system where the temperature inside our homes are being monitored and controlled based on the desired temperature given by a person. The system consists of a controller that allows a person to control and maintain temperature inside the house. The system also has an actuator which consists of servo motors for mechanical operations of the system. It...
