...Kaamulan Festival is an ethnic cultural festival held annually in Malaybalay City,Bukidnon from the second half of February to March 10, the anniversary date of the foundation of Bukidnon as a province in 1917. It is held to celebrate the culture and tradition of the seven ethnic tribal groups—Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon—that originally inhabit the province. It is the only ethnic festival in the Philippines. Kaamulan comes from the Binukid word “amul” meaning to gather.[4] Kaamulan is gathering for a purpose—a datuship ritual, a wedding ceremony, a thanksgiving festival during harvest time, a peace pact, or all of these together. Kaamulan started as a festival on May 15, 1974, during the fiesta celebration of the then municipality of Malaybalay. A town official thought of inviting some indigenous people to town and made them perform a few dance steps at Plaza Rizal to enliven the fiesta celebration.[6] The celebration however proved very popular and together with national coverage the Kaamulan festival has become the regional festival of Northern Mindanao, as declared by the Regional Development Council of Region 10 on September 16,1977. Kaamulan was formerly held in the first week of September but in 1996, it was transferred to the present date to synchronize it with the foundation celebration of the province until in 2014 it was moved to the month of August in light of the 100th Founding Anniversary of Bukidnon.[8] The Kadayawan...

Archaea are used in sewage treatment 6. Certain enzymes from archaea that live at high temperatures or other extreme conditions are used in biotechnology 7. Certain archaea can use metal ions (so they can be used in cleaning up contaminated sites) Source(s): ethanogens, Halophiles, and Thermoacidophiles are found in the Archaea kingdom. They once believed to be a form of bacteria, but are no longer classified as bacteria. They live in extreme environments and are stll sometimes classified under archaebacteria. They are thought to be the oldest form of life found on earth. Halophiles are found in environments with a high salt count. They change their structure in order to survive. Thermoacidophiles like it acidic and hot. Methanogens live in anerobic environments such as swamps where muck abounds. They thrive off of conditions that other bacteria would not be able to live in. The researchers interviewed each student from six (6) different sections out of nine (9) sections in third year. This represents 67% out of 100%. The six (6) sections were Archimedes, Aristotle, Einstein, Euclid, Kepler, and Newton. The three (3) sections which were not interviewed were Plato, Pythagoras, and Socrates. Results of the study showed that out of 479 third year students, 179 or 37% of these received a grade of 79 and below during their second grading period. To make this research valid, researchers also included the “Slovine’s Formula”, construction of “Frequency Distribution Table”, “Graphical Display of Data”, and the name of the students which were interviewed. ...Common Difficulties Encountered by High School Students And their Coping Mechanism MR. RONNIE G. CAINGLET A research paper submitted to the New Era University research center Hanz Lumba Christine Keith Tercias Radnan Oneza Herminia Salamat Donna Valenzuela Shaira Martinez Marko Capili March 2013 IV-LEVI I. Background of the Study Students all over the world face a number of problems which dishearten them. There are so many issues they have to deal with- study, time, money, relationships, job hopes, and more. Parent’s previous experience and education does not always equip them in dealing with such pressures. Many students will not admit their problems due to various reasons and this may eventually hamper a student’s psyche. In Metro Manila, the most common problem a student encounter is their difficulty with certain academic subjects. Nowadays, most schools have five major subjects- Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, English, and Filipino. Although different opinions are made regarding these subjects, it is evident that certain factors affect the level of difficulty of the said subjects. One is the teaching method of the teachers. It is possible that the techniques, including the materials such as the visual aids or presentations used by the teachers, are not effective. Second is the student’s own knowledge and capability. Some are gifted with critical thinking and good analysis which make them perfect for subjects’ Math and Science; while others...

...week of my practice teaching experience.” As I was assigned in Vicente B. Ylagan National High School (VBYNHS), I discovered that practice teaching was a very crucial part of a student-teacher’s life. In the very first day of our practice teaching, 24th day of November 2014, together with my colleagues, daily schedule and subjects were given to us and we were assigned to our cooperating teachers. Based on my schedule’s list, I have a one-hour class period in the morning, from 8:20 to 9:20 for English class and two-hour class from 1:00 to 2:00 and another 3:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon for both MAPEH class. It was a big relief to have my minor subject-MAPEH because there were no computations anyway, but having its four components was not as easy as pie. And, the cooperating teachers that were given to me were Sir Jaypee Jimenez for my English subject and Sir Eleno Bandayrel for my MAPEH. Besides, on that day, we also met the professional teachers on that institution, few new colleagues and students with unfamiliar faces, and my major and minor class-9-Onyx and 9-Jade. Aside from that, we had figured out their classrooms, canteen and offices as well. As the time went on, I took the road of difficulties in each day: travel going to school and going back home, everyday expenses, daily learning plans, preparation of instructional materials, and dealing with the students’ misbehaviors—all those things were the causes of my tiring days, sleepless nights, and stress hours. However,...

...something—I knew no one except Hervin, so, I remained sitting beside him. He was my only friend in the classroom at that time because I knew him since he was my classmate before when I was third year. I come and go out in the classroom together with him every day. There was a time that I took courage to look back and found out if there was a vacant chair because I am not comfortable anymore of those murmurs I heard from my classmates, that I am his girlfriend and he was my boyfriend which is not true. There was a group of girls at the back who approached me, so, I took my bag with me and sat beside them. Hervin did not wonder anymore because first and foremost he knew my reason. Then one day, we need to group ourselves for our MAPEH to perform an advertisement. I did not group myself with my seatmates, who are Beah, Joan, Carol, Rhona, Naide, and Jeannette. Instead, I go with Hervin’s group. My seatmates grouped got the first place even though they performance is like a big error but it is quite entertaining. A week after the performance, Beah and the other members of the group adapted me as part of the Syntax Error—hala uyy!! (group of our friendship) because they noticed that I am also a big error and we are all a big error which is funny. So, that’s how it started. The house of Beah was our favorite place to hang out if we don’t have a class or our teacher would dismiss us early. We would play, eat, sleep, and take a bath time there. We call her mama as if...

...CONTY CARL CUNANAN BSED 1-G MAPEH EL PRESIDENTEample Reaction Paper Note: This may be a bit short, but you get the idea - talk about common concepts, show that you understand and can ANALYZE the readings, offer critiques, and use specifics. Citations are also encouraged. Don't just recap the readings. The topics covered this week are interesting in that they have great implications for democratic theory. Issue voting would indicate an attentive public, while retrospective voting could render campaign promises meaningless. The enterprise of assessing the determinants of vote choice is an extremely complicated one that suffers from several common difficulties. The first is the availability of data. Panel studies and surveys are expensive and time consuming, and therefore not consistently performed. This hodge-podge of available data forces researchers to draw broad conclusions from data covering limited periods of time. For example, Marcus and Converse used data from two elections. The Kiinder and Abelson piece discussed by Asher found that candidate assessment fell along two separate dimensions – competence and integrity, yet the data was drawn during the Carter administration. Carter may be a uniquely extreme example; an individual especially strong on integrity and weak on competence. Similarly, CCMS drew conclusions about issue salience during a particularly non-contentious time period. Many of these studies may be reporting substantially...
