When you think of wealthiness, splurging, opulence, and excess you may think of a million different things, but one person that comes to mind is Marie Antoinette. She was the queen of England not out of choice but from a birth right. She was a young, vibrant, and immature girl. She saw everything good in the world but failed to see that things weren’t as pretty outside of the walls of her prestigious palace. This is how she let money, dresses, and cake destroy her role as queen.
Marie Antoinette was a free spirited person who lived as she wanted to without rules. Then one day her life was turned upside down and she was called to be the future queen of France and marry Louis-Auguste, all at the age of fourteen (Hope, Jessica). This was just after the seven-year war. Marie’s home country is Austria who had just signed the Treaty of Versailles with France, which basically said they would be allies in times of need (Hope, Jessica). Marie had to send away her lady in waiting's for their own protection and soon started to come up with a plan of her own. Louis and Marie decided to flee the castle with the kids. They chose to go to Austria for refuge (Hope, Jessica). Shortly after they fled France they were captured. Louis tried to calm down the angry mobs by making promises. But all these promises were was lost hope. One night their home was broken into and they were captured. Now they both were in prison, Louis was put on trial first and was declared guilty of treason.
