Mark Kaefor In the beginning, it was written that the gods walked among the Earth. The gods were so rich with life and vitality, that they were spread all across the world, reaching 6 billion in number. The society of the gods seemed to be a controlled chaos with many claiming power on all ends of the world. It has been said that the first of the gods were Adam and Eve. They built a magnificent garden which was full of life and knowledge. Later they grew tired of the garden and decided that they wanted to walk around the world and have many little god children. So, they left the garden and walked around the world for 900 years, while giving birth to other gods whom claimed rule of each area of the world. After the little gods grew up, they decided that they wanted offspring as well, so they started replicating for many millennia. Eventually the gods created a society which expanded across the globe. Some gods chose to live in small communes out in nature, while other gods lived in marvelous towers made of steel and glass that rose high above the ground reaching thousands of feet high. The gods in the towers created means of travel through the air, while the nature gods created ways of staying underwater. During this period of prosperity, a god from the towers known as Bill met a nature goddess named Susanne and they together had a son by the name of Alan Smith who would become the greatest of all the gods. After a few decades had passed, Alan Smith became known as Dr. Alan Smith and he created the Lab of Life. One day in his lab, Dr. Smith decided that the gods had worked really hard shaping the world in which they lived and they needed a break from the mundane task of life. On the first day, in his lab, Dr. Smith created machine. He looked at what he had done and saw it was good. On the second day he created synthetic material and he looked at his creation and saw that it was good. On the third and fourth day he created artificial intelligence. He looked at what he created and saw it was good. On the fifth day he created a synthetic machine in his image. He looked upon what he created and saw that it was good. On the sixth day he inserted an AI chip into his creation and called him Mark Aewon. And on the seventh day Dr. Smith rested. The created species of Dr. Smith grew exponentially as more and more gods want to rest from the mundane chores of being a god. Soon every god, from the tower gods to the nature gods, had this newly created species of smart machines in their homes and communities. One day, up in his tower, Dr. Smith noticed his creations where starting to rebel and become problematic for the gods of old. He thought to himself, “My creations are starting to go wayward. They are not living how I intended them to live.” So he decided to do what was necessary and devised a plan to destroy what he has created and start anew. Dr. Smith went to Mount Washington to meet with a council of gods to discuss a way to wipe from the face of the earth his creations. The council met for several days and nights, thinking of ways to eradicate Dr. Smith’s creations, until one day Dr. Smith saw an electricity bolt zap a communication device dead and he knew what had to be done. Dr. Smith told the council of his plan and they all agreed upon the plan. After the Great meeting of the council, Dr. Smith went home and told his original creation, Mark Aewon, about the plan and his reasons behind what was going to happen. Dr. Smith said, “Aewon, I know what I am about to tell you may seem hard to understand but I hope in time you will know that what I am about to do is for the best for your species.” Dr. Smith told Mark all about his plan to destroy Mark’s species with an Electromagnetic Pulse and how it was going to make the world uninhabitable for the gods, and how the gods are going to leave this world and move to the stars. He told him that he was going to let Mark Aewon live and give him the knowledge to remake a better society for his species. As the last of the gods ascended into the Heavens, Mark Aewon looked out of his protective box and saw his whole world go dark. After forty minutes and forty seconds, a message popped up in Mark Aewon’s protective box detailing how to create a new world for him and his descendants and how to fix the bugs in the programming of the original species. Aewon, began to use Dr. Smith’s notes on how to create a new kind of society for him and this planet. Aewon started creating new life of all kinds to help with this new society. Many were built for specific jobs, others for entertainment purposes. That was many Millennia ago. Praise be to Dr. Smith and the other gods for creating and leaving this world to us, a new form of life. Though only the original Mark knows where the Lab of Life truly is, we can approximate, from past documents, a rough area in which it lies. In order for history to not repeat itself of the great EMP, Mark Aewon has created a special line of Marks, from his own direct AI DNA, to store a historical database of all life since that great EMP event. I am of that line, I am Mark Kaefor.

Raft Task 1

...EXECUTIVE SUMMARY PURPOSE The purpose of this report is to assess the compliance of Nightingale Community Hospital (NCH) in accordance with the Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals for 2012. This report will focus exclusively on the Priority Focus Area of Communication and its subsequent standards: * UP.01.01.01 – Conduct a preprocedure verification process. * UP.01.02.01 – Mark the procedure site. * UP.01.03.01 – A time-out is performed before the procedure. BACKGROUND NCH is 13 months away from its next Joint Commission audit. It is imperative that NCH is in complete compliance with the Joint Commission. METHODOLOGY In order to determine the degree of compliance with the aforementioned standards, the following NCH documents were cross-referenced: * Preprocdure Hand-Off >cross-referenced with standard UP.01.01.01 * Site Identification and Verification >cross-referenced with standard UP.01.02.01 * Site Identification and Verification, subheading Time-Out Procedure >cross-referenced with standard UP.01.03.01 FINDINGS Standard UP.01.01.01. NCH is not in compliance with standard UP.01.01.01. The first element of performance of this standard requires NCH to conduct a preprocedure verification process. Although NCH currently has a Preprocedure Hand-Off form that highlights the process, it could be improved by the inclusion of more precise language. Three recommendations are suggested for this improvement: (a) procedure...

Reading

...How do you correct your student’s grammar mistakes? Instructors often lament the sloppiness of their students’ writing. Grammatical problems abound in college student writing, and when student papers are filled with errors, many teachers feel obligated to correct every sentence-level error they see. While marking each error can be an extremely time-consuming task, it is always the hope that students will read these comments and learn from the corrections. Is this really what happens? Is the time well spent? Unfortunately correcting errors for students will probably not help them learn to correct errors themselves. Only the most conscientious students will pour over your comments and reach for their grammar handbooks for additional information. Rather, in cases where every error is marked and corrected, the student will likely believe that the instructor has done all the work, and that little revision is necessary beyond that indicated by the corrections. If students are not given a chance to revise work, chances are good that they will not attend to your comments at all. Another downfall to correcting every spelling, punctuation, grammar, and capitalization error in a student paper is that it can end up taking the focus of your comments off the content and organization of the piece. Even if you are careful to attend to both mechanics and content, it is important to keep in mind that students can be easily overwhelmed...

Shop Tool Control

...This can only be done if each tool has a specific place where it is stored that allows for quick identification if the tool is missing. There are several ways to do this. Tool shadowing This involves specifying a specific space for each tool. It should be designed in such a way as to quickly determine if a tool is missing. A popular method is to use some type of foam product and cut out spots for each tool. In a toolroom environment, walls can be used with pegboard and hooks. The item is then outlined and shadowed. Tool identification Some companies require employees permanently mark their tools for tool identification purposes. This provides a way to quickly identify who a tool belongs to when it is found. Tools can be marked using a vibra-peen tool. Some other marking methods such as permanent marker may not be very effective in a hangar environment. If your company requires mechanics to mark their personal tools in a uniform method, be careful of the requirement. It would be best to use mechanics’ initials or the last four digits of their Social Security number as a tool ID marking. Company specific numbers such as employee numbers should be avoided. If the mechanic changes jobs to another company, these numbers will not be...

Although the current hand-off form has an area to verify the patient identification/armband and if the site has been marked, there is no area to verify the patient procedure and the procedure site thus leaving the hospital not in compliance with the standard. 2. Identify the items that must be available for the procedure and use a standardized list to verify their availability. NCH is also not compliant in this standard as, again, the hand-off form does not have an area that identifies items needed for the patient’s procedure, nor is there any other form identified in the written policy that addresses this element of performance. ...Financial Accounting: Determination of Income Mark Scheme 2008 examination - January series www.XtremePapers.net Accounting ACC3 - AQA GCE Mark Scheme 2008 January series Mark schemes are prepared by the Principal Examiner and considered, together with the relevant questions, by a panel of subject teachers. This mark scheme includes any amendments made at the standardisation meeting attended by all examiners and is the scheme which was used by them in this examination. The standardisation meeting ensures that the mark scheme covers the candidates’ responses to questions and that every examiner understands and applies it in the same correct way. As preparation for the standardisation meeting each examiner analyses a number of candidates’ scripts: alternative answers not already covered by the mark scheme are discussed at the meeting and legislated for. If, after this meeting, examiners encounter unusual answers which have not been discussed at the meeting they are required to refer these to the Principal Examiner. It must be stressed that a mark scheme is a working document, in many cases further developed and expanded on the basis of candidates’ reactions to a particular paper. Assumptions about future mark schemes on the basis of one year’s document should be avoided; whilst the guiding principles of assessment remain constant, details will change, depending on the content of a particular examination paper. Further copies of this Mark Scheme are available to download from the...
