In my paper, I plan to show how, oftentimes, Christianity can cause anti-semitism.

My first example of Christianity causing anti-semitism is the Protestant leader Martin Luther, who historically hated Jews. He is described as first trying to convert the Jews to Christianity, but later turning hostile towards them when the Jews would not convert. He wrote a book called “On The Jews and Their Lies” in 1543. The book details how Jews are liars and thieves who mislead Christians. Martin Luther writes about how God is angry at the Jews; therefore Christians should not tolerate them. He says, “What shall we Christians do with this rejected and condemned people, the Jews?
