Means that to set the steps we have to define SMART goals, they are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time defined. We also have to visualize and identify our aims in short and long terms because the plan depends on how long is the way we need to travel to achieve them. Besides, it is necessary to keep in mind the importance of knowing how to manage time, money and stress, as these can be factors affecting our motivation to have or accomplish goals. Now, I'm ready to create a plan in a positive environment that helps me with my dominant intention of fulfilling my goals. So, this essay will include some points as the reasons for pursuing graduate studies, set my goals with their challenges and strategies, and an analysis of my personal communication. Everyone should have goals configured to be successful in life. For this reason, having a plan with active goals give us the proper direction that we need to avoid the waste of time. Lazarus (2010) stated, "Within the mind is a function called ‘the Reticular Activation System', which acts like an internal radar, seeking out opportunities and situations that can help us achieve what we want." All the while I have been working in the health and social care industry as a support worker supporting people with learning disability, mental health issues and autism to lead a more fulfilling and independent life. I help to promote choice, privacy and dignity, and believe that everyone should benefit from equal opportunity and not be limited or treated any less because of their disability. I have successfully undertaken and passed my National Vocational Qualification level 3 in Health and Social care. This course has enabled me to advance in my knowledge and improve my skills and has also enabled me to evaluate my daily working practices and to continuously reflect on my work. I had the responsibility of supervising other staff and preparing the monthly rota. I have attended mandatory trainings such as (Health and safety, fire awareness, food and hygiene, safeguarding vulnerable adults, person centred active support, medication administration, and to mention a few) to ensure that that I fulfil my role as a senior support worker and provide the best possible care. My responsibilities has led me to other training pathway such as risk management and how to be a good leader and was able to hold forth the service at the time that...

...of a woman dressed in scrubs with a stethoscope around her neck and a clipboard in her hands, you aren’t alone. An overwhelming majority of nurses in the United States today are women. However, nursing began as a practice reserved for men. It wasn’t until the 1800's that nursing became an organized practice. During the Crimean War, Florence Nightingale and 38 volunteer nurses were sent to the main British camp in Turkey. Nightingale and her staff immediately began to clean the hospital and equipment and reorganized patient care. Nightingale pushed for reform of hospital sanitation methods and invented methods of graphing statistical data. When she returned to Britain, Nightingale aided in the establishment of the Royal Commission on the Health of the Army. As a woman, Nightingale could not be appointed to the Royal Commission, but she composed the Commission’s report. (Travel Nurses of America, 2010) Completed, the report was over 1,000 pages in length and included detailed statistical information. Nightingale’s work led to drastic changes in army medical care, the establishment of an Army Medical School and medical records, and ignited the growth of nursing as an organized profession. For these contributions, Nightingale is widely accepted as the founder of nursing. Ironically, nursing has been taken on as a feminine profession, although as aforementioned,...

Faculty of Economics and Business Administration: MSc Program Business Administration. Prof. dr. Eduard Kimman course assistant: Karin Tjeerdsma (k.t.tjeerdsma@vu.nl) Background This course, in the setting of various Master Programmes at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, is about the morality of professional people acting in the context of a business organization. Business organizations or organizations as such do have a formal structure in which responsibility ultimately lies with a director or the board of directors. A business organization forms a context for a great variety of decisions. In a juridical perspective the organization is the bearer of numerous transactions. Inside organizations one may find remarkable opportunities for just or unjust behaviour, for moral or immoral behaviour, for situations of equality or inequality which deserve to be evaluated ethically. As FEWEB is a school for the study of economics and business administration in an economic perspective we focus on so-called “economic decisions” which are decisions being taken with some form of economic calculus. In this course we will spend time on questioning whether the economic or financial outcomes of these decisions are morally neutral or deserve some further moral investigation...
