“The Raging Silence” is an article by Matthew Teague that brings light to what has been going on in North Philadelphia. He calls attention to the wrongful deaths of children due to the fearless use of guns in broad daylight. When did these felons become so gallant in their actions that they can open fire in an intersection right in front of a school with children everywhere? When did violence become the answer to settling a rivalry? The worst part of it all is that the community that should be having each others’ backs in the face of adversity are instead keeping their mouths shut under lock and key to save their own hides from the gangs and drug dealers that give snitches stitches (Teague).

Once he was in mid-recovery, he abruptly left the hospital against medical advice because he had a target on his back. He wanted to finish recovering from his wounds without worrying about his rival coming after him. Back when Johnson was incarcerated, he enlisted the service of a colleague to lobby up money for his bail. The colleague, Collard Green, was murdered during this process and Johnson strongly believed that his rival Cassius Broaster was behind it. Whether he did issue the hit on Green or not is immaterial since Johnson made it clear that he was going after Broaster for killing his get out of jail card. However, the roles had flipped and Broaster was going after Johnson for attempting to go after him. Johnson wanted to finally level the playing field by attacking Broaster while he was dropping his kid off at school, the same school that Faheem Childs attended. The groups of shooters wildly fired in the intersection across the street from the school, “trying not to get shot themselves” but in the process killing the innocent Faheem
