Ages and Stages Assessment Maycie J. McWilliams is a blue eyed, red head who is full of energy. She is three-years-old (45 months) and never stops talking. By using and completely the Ages & Stages Questionnaire with Maycie’s mother, Nikki, we were able to assess Maycie on where she stood developmentally. Just by talking with Maycie I knew that she was advanced for her age. She is easy to understand and can put together sentences. She picks up many words from the adults she is around. During the ASQ-3 assessment Maycie had outstanding scores. In all the categories: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem-solving, and personal-social, Maycie scored the highest possible score in each. Nikki said we could have probably used the next level assessment. Maycie is a very good communicator and she enjoys talking with others. For the most part she does not seem like a shy child and is willing to talk with anyone. A…show more content… Maycie is able to put together puzzles, Nikki says that she likes to put the big puzzles together containing 50 or more pieces. Maycie also demonstrated for us her great cutting skills using a scissors. She is able to draw on paper symbols like a plus sign, a straight line, and circle. Maycie can also do her own buttons, Nikki says that Maycie gets herself dressed most mornings. Maycie is also creative and can draw a stick person that has a body, legs, and a head with eyes, nose, and mouth. Maycie is a problem solver, she is able to repeat back a set of three numbers, she can see which circle is the smallest when given three different size circles, she knows the difference between the words, “under,” “between,” and “middle,” and Maycie also knows all her colors, such as red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, green, and pink. Playing dress up is a must for Maycie, she loves dressing up as a princess from Disney movies. She counted up to ten and she also sang the entire alphabet only messing up the “m” and
