| An essay on mc donald'sWhile many learned professors have abandoned hope of ever discovering the truth behind mc donald's, I for one feel that it is still a worthy cause for examination. At one stage or another, every man woman or child will be faced with the issue of mc donald's. Remarkably mc donald's is heralded by shopkeepers and investment bankers alike, leading many to state that its influence on western cinema has not been given proper recognition. It still has the power to shock the upper echelons of progressive service sector organisations, trapped by their infamous history. At the heart of the subject are a number of key factors. I plan to examine each of these factors in detail and and asses their importance.Social FactorsSociety is a simple word with a very complex definition. When Lance Bandaner said 'twelve times I've traversed the ocean of youthful ambition but society still collects my foot prints' [1] he could have been making a reference to mc donald's, but probably not. Both tyranny and democracy are tried and questioned. Yet mc donald's smells of success. Some analysts have been tempted to disregard mc donald's. I haven’t. It grows stonger every day.Economic FactorsDerived from 'oikonomikos,' which means skilled in household management, the word economics is synonymous with mc donald's. We will study the JTB-Guide-Dog model, which I hope will be familiar to most readers. Annual

Budget | | | | mc donald's |
It is apparent from the graph that the influence of mc donald's is strong. What is the secret to its strength? Even a child could work out that the annual military budget is in financial terms 'holding hands with mc donald's.' Assumptions made by traders have caused uncertainty amongst the private sector.Political FactorsThe media have made politics quite a spectacle. Placing theory on the scales of justice and weighing it against practice can produce similar results to contrasting chalk and cheese. In the words of jazz singer Esperanza Rock 'Taking a walk across hot coals will inevitably hurt your feet.' [2] I couldn't have put it better my self. When it comes to mc donald's this is clearly true. It would be wise to approach the subject with the thought that 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'. However this can lead to missing out important facts. Is mc donald's politically correct, in every sense? Each man, woman and to a lesser extent, child, must make up their own mind.ConclusionIn conclusion, mc donald's must not be allowed to get in the way of the bigger question: why are we here? Putting this aside its of great importance. It collaborates successfully, 'literally' plants seeds for harvest,, though mc donald's brings with it obvious difficulties, it is truly mc donald's.As a parting shot here are the words of super-star Macaulay Malkovitch: 'mc donald's is the new rock and roll! And the new opera!' [3][1] Lance Bandaner - Adventurous Spirit - 1993 See-Saw Publishing[2] Rock - Roll It Up - 1977 - F. ...CHAPTER 12 Measuring Training Effectiveness A large number of organisations are setting up their own training facilities. They are also inviting outside faculty to conduct in-company courses for executives at all levels. This trend will continue because new orientation in managerial and technical areas is necessary for effectively responding to the changing environment of business. Training is expensive if it does not serve the purpose for which it is given. The training should be able to improve the capabilities of individuals and, collectively that of the organisation. If the programme of training does not contribute to the building of organisational capabilities, and, reflect, over a period of time, in improved performance, the loss to the organisation is far greater than the money spent on training. The organisation could lose its competitive edge and its market position. Hence training has to serve identified purposes for the organisation based on a systematic analysis of its own capabilities and the demands upon it that the future scenario may make. The organisation has to identify what skills, attitudes, behaviour, knowledge, conceptual and operating capabilities are needed and which of these can be developed through training and which of these require reorientation in policy and management practices. In our experience very few organisations spend enough time to analyse the situation with care before launching on training programmes. We have seen that even some...

...Financial Management Group Assignment Team 9 - Bayswater Andrés Lema Eric Shoubridge Farhana Aslam Felipe Hessel Rosa Montes Todd Hanlon 5th December 2012 1: The Financial, Business and Economic Environment for McDonald’s Introduction: The Fast Food Industry and McDonald’s The modern system of fast food franchising is believed to have started in the mid 1930’s when Howard Johnson franchised his second location to a friend as a means to expand operations during the Great Depression. In addition, the drive-thru concept brought explosive growth through delivering food-on-the go. “Fast Food” was added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary in 1951, and U.S. fast food companies are now franchised in over 100 countries. In the U.S. alone there are over 200,000 restaurant locations. Revenue has grown from $6 billion in 1970 to $160 billion in 2011, an 8.6% annualized rate (Sena, 2012). Fast food franchises focus on delivering high volume, low cost, and high speed products. Frequently, food is preheated or precooked and served to-go, though many locations also offer seating for onsite consumption. With all stands, kiosks, or sit-down locations, food is standardized and shipped from central distribution points. Consumers enjoy being able to get a familiar meal in each location, and menus and marketing are the same across all stores (Sena, 2012). McDonald’s (MCD) was founded in California in 1940 under the name “McDonald’s Bar-B-Q”. The original founders, Dick and Mac McDonald...

McDonald’s operates in over 121 countries and has over 30,000 restaurants worldwide. McDonald’s utilized an intense, rapid expansion into foreign countries through three primary methods, franchising, company owned restaurants, and joint ventures. With the majority of international restaurants stemming from franchising agreements, McDonald’s management relied on this method to aid in the acceptance of a new style of eating into unfamiliar markets. With minimal risk and maximum gains, franchising continues to contribute heavily to McDonald’s international success.
