Give Me Back My Life

...Poem: Give me Back my life Day in and day out I go thru these emotions , But What are they really about? Do I have the strength to go on? Or will all my might they drain Leaving me in a rut in which I must remain Arrows pierce my heart ripping and tearing it apart Shred by shred Was it something I said? Or disillusioned notions in my head I can't stop the rain from falling I can't stop my loneliness For companionship It's calling I can't stop the pain From it what will I gain? As the hurricane of despair gusts thru my mind A decent thought I cannot find With all this rage how can I comprehend one thoughtfrom the other Or those in which I can make amend I rack my brain tossing thoughts here and there All the while wondering Contemplating How possibly can I get rid of the thorns in the fiber of my being It's embedded from days of old It's so unfair My flesh and bones , seemingly Can't get passed The past That caused such dysfunction From head to toe, a chilling sensation Something new I cannot name Can it I claim Where to direct it Some wrongs need to be corrected With my mouth words explode from within The healing process now begins My soul cries for help Amidst a raging storm of old Everything I see, hear, touch Brings a new reality Where is the real me Thru this process I pray the blinds are lifted No more misery , no more strife I declare Addiction Give me back my...

About Me for My Whole Life and Wish ~ Good Job Man

Self-Appraisal

...Self-Appraisal How does your life story begin? My story starts before I was even born. My parents were never a legitimate couple. My mother was a 28 year old woman with a 10 year old son, and even though she was legally married her and her husband weren’t together. As for my father he was a much older man living in the next town with his wife. Now my mother never made up any stories about their situation, it was a mutually beneficial relationship. He wanted her for her beauty and body, and she wanted to be taken care of financially. During the same time my grandfather became very ill and had to stay in the hospital for an extended amount of time. When my grandmother and mother went to visit him he had become somewhat delusional because of all the medication he was on. He asked my mother to stop her baby from crying, but she was confused because there was no baby in sight. When she proceeded to ask him what he was talking about he told her he was talking about her baby girl. At that time my mother had no idea whatsoever that she was pregnant with me. So when she took a test and found out she was pregnant, she was beyond surprised because there weren’t any symptoms. Then she told my father and told her to get an abortion because he already had a family and wouldn’t be able to be there for the child. Despite what he told her my mother didn’t have an abortion because she felt as though I was special because my grandfather had in a sense “saw” me before I was born. Who has been...

...and out of my life. Whether this person be a friend, boyfriend, or even people in my classes. However through the constant changes of the people in my life there has always been a steady constant. A person who has always been there whether it be from the moment I was born or as I'm sitting on my couch writing this very paragraph. Someone who in fact has not only given advice, but helped with situations far beyond my years. The person I admire is my father, and even though we are thousands of miles away from each other, he has always been right by my side helping me think through every decision. He is inspiring and teaches me a lot of what the world can give to me if I know how to look for it. My father who was named Bret about fifty-two years ago is about six feet tall and has a graying mustache. He has dark brown hair, short of course, much like mine. He has gone so far in life and I believe this is because of all the hardship he has gone through in his life and even though the rough patches has brought him down in life from time to time, he always had a smile on and said that he will try again and again. Formal/Informal Learning Essay 1

...Over the years, between grade school and high school and now as an adult still trying to finish my undergraduate degree 10 years after I started it, I find that I’m the type of learner that must be interested in the topic or have a purpose for completing the class. Ever since I was a little girl, I was surrounded by distractions in my life that didn’t allow for me to properly focus on school. I was always able to complete the bare minimum to get by, but never really applied myself to my course studies, unless it was something that I was completely interested in. Studies that, looking back, actually allowed for my brain to rest from the chaotic life it dealt with outside of the classroom. Growing up I always enjoyed the extra-curricular activities as opposed to the general requirements, for example English and History, Economics and Government. Because I struggled with being able to focus while in school, I feel today as an adult I suffer from not knowing about some of the key elements to life. And even though today I realize not knowing these things hinders me at times, I still tend to not have a desire to pursue them to better understand. And the reason for this, are the distractions in my life today. I’ve recognized a pattern in my childhood and in my adulthood and rather than taking responsibility, and taking time out of my busy life to learn and grow as an adult I chose to make excuses. I chose to delay educating myself in these areas that are just as important as the areas...
