Abstract
As a future Social Worker, it is it is important that we understand the meaning of a policy and its purpose since we will be working with individuals, families and the community. A policy is a set of principles adopted by an individual, government and organization to carry out with a decision making process. Policies often hold the beliefs of what someone or some groups believe is the right thing to do. In this paper, I will begin by discussing the history of U.S disability policies and policies of low income women with families, by comparing how each have evolved throughout the years. Next, I will explore “Ending Welfare as We Know It” by Meredith Vieira, which demonstrates women and families who are affected by the change in welfare
