...The Usage of Meta Tags The Usage of Meta Tags Meta tags are used by search engine spiders to gather information about the current page the spider is crawling. This data is then used to help the search engines create what are called Search Engine Results Pages. There are three main types of Meta tags, title, description and keywords. The title tag should be something that users will be able to search for in the search box. For example if you’re a breeder of pit bulls, then make the title tag informing users that you are. Descriptions are typically used on the SERPs as an overview of information contained in the page. Keywords are typically used by search engines to aid in ranking the paper besides other similar pages on the SERPs. The keywords tag should be used to sum up what the site it about in detail using “to the point words” for what information is on the current page. This allows a user to type in the general idea of their search and for the spider to crawl for those words. The description tag should be a brief description on what your site offers, does, or is about! For example, if your page is about breeding pit bulls pups in your area, describe the type of puppies, prices, and what...

...A Guide to Tags and Tagging Modern websites and blogs often provide a feature called a 'Tag Cloud'. It contains a series of words that are common across the site and sized according to how many times they are used. Larger words are more common, smaller ones less so. When people initially start tagging they tend to use the wrong words and overuse the tags system to relate items together. This leads to a tag cloud that isn't as useful as it could be. What are Tags used for? Tags are used to highlight items and references across all types of content on a site. If I have a page that talks about bananas and an event about bananas, I would tag them as 'Fruit'. You may think that 'Banana' would be the right tag but that will be very unlikely to appear in the cloud unless you're a banana wholesaler. When a user comes across an item about bananas they may wish to see what other fruit items you have on your site. The tags will let them instantly find fruit related material without having to search for Apple, Orange, Strawberry etc. A tag should loosely relate to the subject matter so you can relate items that have a similar theme. Tags should allow a user to hit a page and follow that pages theme to your other content (Keeping them on your site). Sometimes you may wish to use more specific tags and this is fine if you have many items with that tag. If you're site covers growing fruit and vegetables you probably have enough to content on 'greenhouses' or 'compost' to make...

...Weighted Tag Similarity Measure Based on a Collaborative Weight Model G.R.J.Srinivas Search and Information Extraction Lab, IIIT Hyderabad, ∗ Niket Tandon † Vasudeva Varma Search and Information Extraction Lab, IIIT Hyderabad, India Max Planck Institute, Germany ntandon@mpi-inf.mpg.de srinivasg@research.iiit.ac.in India vv@iiit.ac.in ABSTRACT The problem of measuring semantic relatedness between social tags remains largely open. Given the structure of social bookmarking systems, similarity measures need to be addressed from a social bookmarking systems perspective. We address the fundamental problem of weight model for tags over which every similarity measure is based. We propose a weight model for tagging systems that considers the user dimension unlike existing measures based on tag frequency. Visual analysis of tag clouds depicts that the proposed model provides intuitively better scores for weights than tag frequency. We also propose weighted similarity model that is conceptually different from the contemporary frequency based similarity measures. Based on the weighted similarity model, we present weighted variations of several existing measures like Dice and Cosine similarity measures. We evaluate the proposed similarity model using Spearman’s correlation coefficient, with WordNet as the gold standard. Our method achieves 20% improvement over the traditional similarity measures like dice and cosine similarity and also over the most recent tag similarity...

...Meta Tags Optimization XIAOCHEN ZHAO Content relevant to the analysis Our goal is to attract and help more people to find our website so that we could increase the number of our potential customers. Here’re all the pages that might be relevant and helpful for achieving our goal. http://suabroad.syr.edu/index.html(home page) http://suabroad.syr.edu/interestedstudents/ (interested students) -/interestedstudents/infosessions.html (info session) http://suabroad.syr.edu/programs/ (search programs) -/destinations/summer/index.html (summer programs) -/programs/bysubject.html (by subject) http://suabroad.syr.edu/dest/ (destinations)r The meta description tags allows you to show description of your website under the clickable link on a search engines. Although it might not be displayed by search engines every time, it is still a good way to tell your audience what your website is mainly about. Suabroad didn’t have any of these. It is not good when you find the links of suabroad, and it only shows you” SU Abroad will not be open Monday, Dec. 26-Monday, Jan. 2. There will be no mail service to SU Abroad during this time; please plan accordingly”. This definitely will make some potential audience lose their patience if they just have gone through hundreds of similar pages of this kind. So adding descriptions to content- relevant pages is the step to do meta tag optimization. The Meta Keywords Tag will not guarantee the high page ranking. However, well usage of keywords...

...Standards Avery Magee IT/237 09/16/2011 Vickie Bailey tags tags, are the information inserted into the “head” part of the web page right after the “title” tag is inserted giving the page a title. The meta description tag allows you to influence the description of your page in the crawlers that support the tag. In the beginning I was under the impression that when I typed in a description for the meta tag that was what would be displayed on a search engine to summarize my site. After a little research it turns out that searches like Google will actually ignore the tag altogether (in some cases) and generate their own description for the site. Other search engines that are configured to use meta tags will pull the full or part description from the tag to display for users. Searchenginewatch.com said,” In review, it is worthwhile to use the meta description tag for your pages, because it gives you some degree of control with various crawlers. An easy way to do this often is to take the first sentence or two of body copy from your web page and use that for the meta description content.” The meta keywords tag is also addressed in the information I found as a rarely used thing of the past. The article on meta tags at Http://searchenginewatch.com considers these tags useful for the few crawlers out there that may actually still use the meta tag but very few do anymore. This particular tag is good for adding keywords to a search or generating words in between...

...started to enter the Indian market. In 1999, the new import and export policy relaxed the hitherto stiff upper bar on imports of luxury watches and more brands started to enter the market. Due to the global economic recession in 2008-2009 the overall production of wrist watches declined around the world, however, there was an increased demand and sales growth for luxury and premium watches in the Indian market. There was an increasingly high demand for luxury watches in India starting eighties. Luxury watches were bought for their symbolic significance and experiential benefits. It was basically attributed to the major lifestyle changes. The other brands having high demand in luxury segment in Indian market were Tissot, Rado, Omega, Tag Heuer and Longines. Xylys is a premium Swiss brand housed by Titan in India. At the launch of the Xylys brand in 2006, the management of Titan Industries created a unique brand perception for Xylys in the consumer market. The brand employed it with style and attitude and was directed towards both men and women who were conscious of their image projection. The aim of the brand was to inculcate in them a sense of pride with the ownership of the premium Xylys brand. ANALYSIS The commonly used basis for segmenting the consumer market for watches is technology, benefit sought and price. This segmentation basis, although widely used, doesn’t give a clear picture...

...ethics Branch of philosophy concerned with the nature of ultimate value and the standards by which human actions can be judged right or wrong. The term is also applied to any system or theory of moral values or principles. Ethics is traditionally subdivided into normative ethics, metaethics, and applied ethics. Normative ethics seeks to establish norms or standards of conduct; a crucial question in this field is whether actions are to be judged right or wrong based on their consequences or based on their conformity to some moral rule, such as “Do not tell a lie.” Theories that adopt the former basis of judgment are called consequentialist (see consequentialism); those that adopt the latter are known as deontological (see deontological ethics). Metaethics is concerned with the nature of ethical judgments and theories. Since the beginning of the 20th century, much work in metaethics has focused on the logical and semantic aspects of moral language. Some major metaethical theories are naturalism (see naturalistic fallacy), intuitionism, emotivism, and prescriptivism. Applied ethics, as the name implies, consists of the application of normative ethical theories to practical moral problems (e.g., abortion). Among the major fields of applied ethics are bioethics, business ethics, legal ethics, and medical ethics. 1. Clearly define the ethical problem. The ethical problem is if I should be honest and report this security breech. 2. Employ applicable laws and regulations. I would...

...“All Ethical Language is prescriptive” Discuss (35) The Philosopher R.M. Hare came up with the idea of prescriptivism and what he meant by this basically was that other people should agree with a statement and follow it due to ethical statements having an intrinsic sense. The role of ethical statements is to say what ‘ought’ to be done and such prescriptions are moral because they are universal. Hare then goes on to talk about the word ‘good’ and that we should always link it in relation to a set of standards, and this therefore means it has a descriptive meaning, however if we use the word ‘good’ in a moral sense it also has a prescriptive meaning. Hare is saying that there is a difference between a descriptive and prescriptive meaning, but when we use words with an ethical meaning, we use them prescriptively. However there are criticisms to Hare’s theory like you should put yourself in another person’s shoes before making a judgement as one person’s preferences may be different from another person. On the other hand philosopher G.E. Moore came up with the idea of intuitionism and he said that the word ‘good’ was indefinable and one prime example he used was that we know what ‘yellow’ is and can recognise it, but we can’t actually define what it is and he also says this about the word ‘good’. Moore also said that we can still say whether a moral statement is true or false through our intuition and that we can recognise good when we see it. There are also criticisms to this...

...My Interviewees My Father My Grandmother Questions Since 9/11 the western world has been on alert for terrorism. Approximately 9 months ago a U.S. government contractor, Edward Snowden, revealed that the U.S. has been collecting phone records of millions of Verizon customers. It also revealed that Canada is doing the same. Last week the head of Canada’s communication and surveillance agency (CSEC&CSIS0) testified in front of the Canadian senate that it has been collecting data in public places like airports and hotels. This data called Meta data. Metadata shows information like the location and telephone numbers of all calls a person makes and receives. It also tracks the Wi-Fi data. It does not include what is being said in the call. 1. Is the collection of metadata by Canada’s spy agency against our social justice? Is this an invasion of our privacy? 2.The head of the spy’s agency says that they don’t collect data of Canadians, just foreigners going through our public places because terrorists hide in public places, though many times foreigners call or email Canadians and that information is collected. If this is all for the security of Canadians and foreigners are the targets, shouldn’t this be okay? 3.Can u suggest any other legal way to spy on Canadians to secure the country and its people? Answers- My Father 1. I believe this is an invasion to our privacy. However, it is necessary in order to catch the terrorists before they...

...Hand hygiene is a practise of evidence-based medicine and the number one way to prevent health-care associated infections (Garbutt, 2011). The term of hand hygiene applies to adequate hand washing, antiseptic hand-wash, antiseptic hand-rub, or surgical hand antisepsis (Garbutt, 2011). Evidence-based practices have been put into place to prevent such infections from occurring. The present paper will examine ways in which health professionals use the five steps of evidence based practices (EBP) to locate, appraise and apply the best available research evidence. In this case, the five steps of EBP will be assessed in conjunction to the practise of good hand hygiene. Liamputtong (2013, p.267) has explained evidence-based practise (EBP) as the use of the best research evidence, clinical expertise, available resources, and patient preferences in respect to clinical decision-making. EBP is taught and practised using five steps to reduce inconsistency and increase efficiency and effectiveness of health care (Liamputtong, 2013, p.267). According to Liamputtong (2013, p.267) the first step of EBP is to ask an answerable question stating the population, intervention, comparison and outcome of the question (PICO). Next, acquire the best available evidence using research strategies (Liamputtong, 2013, p.267). This evidence is then appraised to determine its quality and relevance (Liamputtong, 2013, p.267). The fourth step it to apply the evidence integrated with clinical expertise and...
