As far as Metaphysics goes, I have a lot more going on in my mind about that. I wonder what really exists, and if all that I see really exists or if I am simply dreaming and I am in my own dream and my own reality that simply intertwines with other people’s individual reality dreams. If that is true, does that mean every person sees the world different from his or her own eyes? I know that is partially true since not everyone has the same opinions on the same things, but I wonder if people really SEE the world different, through their own eyes. If it’s true we are living our own reality is everything on earth real and that’s just the presence of our dream? Or have we created this earth in our minds?
Which leads me to epistemology, which is the study of our method of acquiring knowledge. It is supposed to answer the question, “how do we know?” Well I think I’ve come up with an answer for anything that haven’t been proven by facts… “We don’t know”. I have gained a lot of information but I’m not sure I’ve turned it into knowledge. I have absorbed so many words from this class and different views and opinions, that I have began to look at the world and everyone and everything around me differently that I can’t observe it all and turn it into knowledge. I don’t believe we covered ethics very much, but it is an easy question of right and wrong. From the time we a born and start learning and crawling and talking we begin to learn what is right and what is wrong. We learn that you will be rewarded or feel like when you do what is “right” and you will be punished and feel bad if you choose to do what’s “wrong”. I still make these choices every day consciously and subconsciously.
Politics… politics. I still hate politics after this class. Probably even more actually. Our government is in huge crisis and constantly seems to have more problems, or is just revealing new problems as time goes on. Either way, we need the regulations of government because unfortunately, we have people in the country that obviously need to be regulated and contained. Such as the people involved in the Boston Bombing and the shooting that even more recently happened in New Orleans.
My view of esthetics was pretty broad before this class, since I often enjoyed the simple beauty of life. But since this class, my view has broadened even more! I know that people have their own opinions and views on different views of art but that does not mean that it is not beautiful. Something that is simply different, is beautiful. Some people may not enjoy someone else’s favorite type of music but that’s okay, it’s just a different type. Everyone likes something different and sees it as beautiful in their own way.
