...Developing skills through my internship: Sharron Clark 06/10/2013 Over the first month of my internship, I have developed many different new skills. I have been learning quite a few things about information technology and business management. In IT I have been working with several devices such as the blackberry Q10 & Z10, which are the new phones that employees are now switching to and I have also worked with the Wyse Xenith 2 terminals, which are portable desktop computers that connects to a data center where all the information of the treasury and employees is help, so that any employee can gain access in their accounts at any computer in the building. Last, I worked with Remedy which is software that used to keep tracks of orders of supplies, printers, computer software/ hardware and etc. from employees. The skills that I have learned in business management was how to run inventory and working behind the scenes of treasury. Maintaining inventory is a very important aspect of this job, because without supplies and hardware, how could this place function. I have learned that in order for a firm to make it and be successful is to work together as a team. Having that team mindset will help to create relationships based upon trust. I also learned that it takes persistence and hard work ethic to be successful in the corporate world. By observing my mentor and working with other employees of the department of treasury, I have had to keep up with them on a daily basis so that...

As one of its major undertaking, the firm seeks to expand its smartphone program to include all employees that own a mobile phone and a laptop. The company has ten senior members of the executive who are prioritized by the scheme, as well as another one-hundred employees that own a cell phone and a laptop. Notably, fifteen employees that have been signed up for the training will require the program’s expanded internet service. In case funding gets approved, this project is intended to save considerable finances in the long run. The Scope of the Smartphone Project The scope of the Smartphone project is to establish the deadline for project, in terms of the time duration it will take to finally realize the programmed expansion across the firm (Kerzner, 2013). ...Case Analysis of Case Study 3.1: HY DAIRIES, INC Linda Sanchez MGMT 645 Organizational Development & Culture Dr. Laughron January 12, 2014 Apply your knowledge of stereotyping and social identity theory to explain what went wrong here. On first glance this case may appear as if Mr.Gilman has stereotyped Mr.Beauport. However, there does not appear any evidence of stereotyping throughout the case such as having a history of making racial slurs towards any ethnic group. Mr. Gilman’s decision in offering Ms. Beauport the marketing research coordinator’s position does not appear to contain malicious intentions behind it. On the contrary, he seems to be sincere in offering the position for future advancements within the company. Personal experience may have made Ms. Beauport jump to the conclusion that her employer would not accordingly promote her due to the color of her skin and gender. Society’s definition of racial and gender stereotyping is typically towards minorities, such as Latinos or African Americans, or females. This case does not easily follow the “typical” image of racial stereotyping. Some may argue that Ms. Beauport is stereotyping Mr. Gilman as a sexists and racists Caucasian man. Our textbook describes social identity is a way in which people define themselves by the groups to which they belong or have an emotional attachment (McShane & Von Glinow, 2013). It focuses on the different ways people...

Ms. Smith: Congratulations on the successful start up of your business. Smith’s Accounting and Tax Service has a tremendous amount of potential to become the go-to accounting service for small businesses and individual tax preparation in the local area. After careful review of your operational process, it has come to my attention that some improvements and adjustments can be made in order to keep your business moving forward. In any successful business, whether large or small, there are four functions of management that need to be utilized, planning, operating, leadership and control (P-O-L-C) (Principles of Management 1.1, 2014). It is important to incorporate all facets of this framework into your personal business if you want to be successful. What needs to happen first is an in-depth plan needs to be developed. In this plan you need to communicate your vision and mission to the employees, as well as the goals and objectives of the company and the strategy on how to accomplish them. As the senior manager of the company you also need to conduct an environmental scan (Carpenter, Mason, Bauer, Talya and Erdogan, Berrin, 2014). An environmental...
