Decision-Making Process
So far in my life I haven’t had to make so many hard decisions, but the one that really was a tough one for me was coming back to school. I had just left my boyfriend of five years with my daughter who was not even one years old yet. I was going to be on my own having to pay bills, take care of my daughter, and make sure I could provide for the both of us. I had already gotten my certificate in Massage Therapy and that was the job I was in when I left. My career did make me enough money to pay bills but it left me short on doing things with my daughter and getting food and clothes on our backs. So I decided to sit down one day and think about what I wanted to do with my life and where I wanted to be in the future. I have never really been one to just rush right into something without making a list of pros and cons, and I did just that!
First thing I decided to do was to make a list of pros and cons and based on the outcome I would understand if I could financially afford it, and if it was worth the time. I did pros and cons to going to a community college vs. online college. Being a single mother I couldn’t give up time with my daughter especially if I didn’t have someone to watch her. That was the biggest con to going to a community college. My biggest con to going to an online college was whether or not I would make myself sit down and do the work or not with a toddler running around. After looking over my lists I decided I could do the work and that it would be much better to stay home with her and still be able to do homework and get my education.
Second thing I did was call different online schools to get all the information I could on the kind of program I wanted, which was Business Management/Small business Entrepreneurship. I asked for the
