How are your employees feeling about their place of work? There are things that can happen in the work place that cause employees to want to leave and pursue other places to work at. Retaining your employees is a crucial part of managing especially if the employee excels at the job. As managers there are things that can be done to keep your employees and keep them happy so they stay motivated and happy to continue their employment with you. As a manager it is important to understand what how to retain good employees and possibly engage those that are not doing as great, because it can have a better outcome for both the employee and the facility. Some important things to consider when managing employee retention start from the beginning from the hiring process to actual termination of an employee.
As a manager you begin to seek out a new employee and it is important to spend time putting together the job description. This job description will attract applicants that are suitable for the job so being specific on job duties, hours, requirements, and any other pertaining information to the job is essential. Informing the applicants of what they will be expecting before applying for the job will guide applicants into actually wanting to apply for the job. This will be the first step to creating a good match between the employee and the company. After reviewing these applicants and which are the most qualified/best fitted for the job then you can begin the interview process.
Now you the right fitted applicant has been chosen and you then begin with training for the new employee. This is also very important because you want to ensure that this employee receives all the proper training to be able to do this job efficiently. Giving all the right tools and resources to the employee is helpful to both parties. As a manager checking
