First and foremost, Michelle Paver was born on September 7 1960 in Malawi. Her South African father ran the tiny Nyasaland Times, and her Belgian mother wrote a weekly gossip column. In 1963 the family moved to England, where she was educated in Wimbledon and at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. Although many of Paver’s writings were rejected, she continued to do what she loved. As a child she loved myths, animals and how people lived in the past. In 2003, Paver started working on The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness which is a series of six books that she would later be most known for.
